It works good, I I don't care what it looks like. My Knee is now comfortable.

Nice idea :)

To improve it You might cut the mat around the mouldings, thus trying to make it look like OE.

Keeps Your knee a bit warmer too, particularly during cold weather, I guess!

Hmm, never had a problem just letting my knee lean up against the door. Now that ****** tunnel is a whole different story. Thing keeps my leg slanted sideways. If I didnt have cruise and could stretch out on long trips idk what I would do.

I am just tall and am real cramped in the KJ. My knee wants to bend the door's plastic outward!! It was so bad before this cushion was made.
Stretch out..that will not be possible for me, until I get the seat brackets installed ,to move the seat back 2-3 inches.
The tunnel makes the footwell small, but the Weather-tech floor mats helped me level the left foot area. I also have to turn my right, size 13.5 foot sideways to get at the brake pedal. Another reason for getting the seat back!
I am trying to get the KJ to where I could one day make it a daily driver. Right now for me it is a 20 minute (that I can stand it) cruiser.

Great Idea, After a week in Moab last year I had a bruise on my knee for hitting it on that plastic!

Talking about carpet...what I used was a Kanga 3/8 underpad. These polyurethane backed products are a awesome.
Works great in the basement as you have the insulation, sound deadening application that can be steamed cleaned without the water soaking below and moisture resistant/barrier.
Very tough backings.
Soft for lying on with "kitty"....
And on the door panel as knee protector.
