Installed Run Cool Hood Vents.

Well I finally got my Run Cool hood vents installed today,boy do they look sharp!
Not a mod you want to do if your not willing to drill holes in your Jeep,It took 84 total holes to install them.Also I used stainless bolts instead of the rivits.
Marked and ready to cut out center holes.......

Since I'm not cutting out the braces,need to cut some drain holes(also to help with cooling) and access holes for some of the bolts.

I got the high flow meduim ones and opted to use stainless steel button head bolts instead of the supplied stainless rivits.

It actually does keep the engine bay cooler,by how much I couldn't tell but you can feel the air rushing out of them when at a standstill and the cooling fan is on.The air coming out is almost to hot to touch so they are doing there job.

And +150hp..

I can see that much reduction in temps at highway speeds,does nothing really for engine temps but helps if your cooling system is not a 100% up to par.No added HP gain either.

KJ's are notorius for building up heat when you DD them as a commuter car...

XJ guys do vents because of 4.0 HO overheating issues.. i woudl think that vents on a KJ would only take strain off of the cooling system.. good idea in my opinion..

I am sure your engine will thank you especially when off-road.
I wish that some sort of air slots would have been cut into the side near the rear of hood by the factory. It really can get extremely warm under the hood.
Your set up in the middle of the engine bay will dispel more heat as it is directly over the hottest parts. Nice work.
I would like to do some venting in the hood, but it just rains here too much of the time.

Pull the weather strip off the cowl/firewall,lets a lot of air out.

Mines sat out in the rain, been driven through downpours etc and no problems in over 2 years or more, ( can't remember when I installed mine but was back right about when TJKJ did his. Motors get wet all of the time
