Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Those have been around for 3 years or so already,JBA has been selling them for a long time. There a great upgrade but most decide against it after they see the price, about $1000 for the set.

Wow, a pair of those axles, a steel front diff, some 5.88s, lockers and sticky 33"s. Let's go climb some walls!!

Personally, unless my KJ magically decides to double it's torque output, I'll keep replacing the CVs I've got every 50K miles with NAPA bits for way, way less.

So is 50K the magic number for CV replacement???

No, just saying that over the life of my KJ, I could replace the CV's every 50K and still not come close to the price of the JE Reel parts.

Maybe an intermediate shaft.. CV should last longer than 50k though, even with a lift. Just depends on what you're doing to your Jeep.

My intermediate shaft lasted about 65K miles.

Most I have seen go into the 100,000/120,000 mile range before anything happens and thats even lifted
Mine went at 135,000, friend of mine at 145,000 I think it was

CVs are one of those things I NEVER worry about.
They are a wear item like water pumps, brakes, u-joints.
They wear out you replace them, until then forget them and have fun! nana.gifnana.gifnana.gifnana.gifnana.gifnana.gifnana.gifnana.gif
As far as the J.E. Reels don't see a need up to 4.5 inches or better of lift.
