2) Does the ball joint base completely fill the hole in the a-arm? The Moogs I just installed leave a very small gap on the back side - not a big deal but I'm curious ;)
Mine are the same way. Not really a huge deal but I'd feel a lot better if the gap wasn't there. It'd be worth buying the JBA BJ's just for that reason.

For anyone that is interested ;
here are a few pictures.
JBA just released them today , been in testing for some time and they are working great. Boot is heavier duty, so far no grease has came out on mine, running two spacers on one side and one on the other just for testing to see which is better but both holding well . I have some more I'll post later.

Happen to have any spare spacers laying around? The replacement boots JBA sent me have a small gap and one of those for each side would be perfect.

Can these been also used for an unlifted KJ? Do they have a part number to be able to identify them and not to get confused with the old ones???

Are these ball joints so good that I should replace the ones that came on my JBA UCAs that are sitting on a shelf waiting to be installed some day soon?

What about the other ball joints on the KJ... if I'm gonna do a major suspension change (3" lift), should I also change all the ball joints that have over 100K miles on them?

Right... but what I wanted to know was...
Are these ball joints so good that I should replace the ones that came on my JBA UCAs
I mean, in your opinion? I enjoy going 4-wheelin', but I'm not a ********* rock crawler. I'm just trying to get myself to a decent scenic spot (granted, many of the roads I get on are a lot rougher than the one shown below).

And...
...should I also change all the ball joints that have over 100K miles on them?
With Moog or some other quality ball joint?

I've always built mine and advised others that any upgrade over stock is a good investment.
Now saying that a lot of us have several thousand miles on the stock type ball joints that JBA used for a long time. Personally I have way over 100,000 miles .
So since you just bought yours, and what you are doing , I would run them as long as you can. Just my 2 cents , I have a pair of ball joints laying here now with less than 7000 miles on them that will more than likely be thrown away someday , sort of a waste ya know

Just replacing the ball joints probably should.
(But I didn't of course I change everything so much that I wait till I know that I'm going to stay that way for a while)
