jk steel rims on a kj

found a guy selling the stock steel rims with 11k miles on the goodyear st tires (yeah I know not the greatest tire) but would these bolt up to my 05 kj?

No they won't bolt right up unless you bought some adapters. The KJ is 5x4.5" bolt pattern, and the JK is a 5x5" bolt pattern.

Google is your friend.

Why not just order some Cragar Soft 8's or the Cragar D Windows, they always look good on a KJ. The Soft8's are only $39.99 US(15" rim) a piece from Summit Racing.

What wheels are those in your pic? Got any close-ups? I'm leaning towards the D Windows myself but not ready to jump on it. I'm still undecided on size and these "sales" websites rarely seem to mention backspacing or offsets. Do you think the D Window 16x7(33lbs) or 16x8(38lbs) weighs less than our stock 16x7 5 Raised Spokes? Also, anyone know if the 15x7 would fit (because of the brakes)?

Cast Alloy wheels of the same 16x7 size seem to run in the 26lbs range. That's a significant difference. Super tempting.

If those tires/wheels are a good enough buy, there is a set of adapters on LOST that would make them work.

Many people are not really impressed by the ST's or SR-A tires.

My wheels are a 15x8" Cragar Soft 8 and yes they will clear the caliper. As far as weight goes, I am not sure the difference in weight.
If you are thinking on going 15's, order them in a 7" wide rim.

I'm new to -1ing my rims/tires why would we want to do that again, more rubber with less steel to minimize unsprung weight? I've always had sport(y) cars where +1, +2 options are used and those were always an attempt to minimize sidewall flex obviously increasing lateral stability.

To be honest, I would get the 15x7 in the D Windows if they not only kept reasonable streetability (I don't know any reason why they wouldn't) but also looked better than the 16x7. Some wheels don't quite look the part when you get the smaller size such as 15s. I really like your profile picture though and I'm hopeful that there is some good reason to choose the 15x7 over the 16x7.

The basic reasons for smaller rims on a Jeep is for more tire sidewall,better for offroad and helps protect the rim.Another reason for a narrower rim is it holds the tires bead better when aired down on the trail for less chance of blowing a bead.
