Just quick questions (I hope):

1) The motor still "tries" to work. What part(s) do I need?
2) Any preferred brand?
3) I need other work done at the dealer*. Should I just let them do it?

*STILL trying to get that stinking TPMS & Fog Light problem fixed.

PS: If you don't hear from me again it means I sold everything and went to hike the Appalachian Trail. Anyone got any good recipes for Possum Stew? :icon_twisted:

PPS: Had a rock hit my windshield on the way in to work this morning. It never lets up... :blah:

It might be a day or two until I have time to get into it and see what I've got. This getting home at 11pm stuff complicates things.

I did the Steiger Kit for the front passenger. Its what I plan to do when the others go but I don't have to worry about it for a long time since the other three are brand new.

It will slip down when bumped. It hasn't fallen completely on its own, though. I threw some tape on it at the top and around the door frame, then made a quick stop at a drug store hoping to find suction cups. Had to settle for some of those semi-permanent picture hangers with the double-sided tape. I've got six of them lined up along the bottom of the window and they are holding so far.

The problem became evident when I was closing the window yesterday. It got to the top and you could hear a mild crunching noise, then the motor kept on whining like it was still trying to close the window. I knew immediately what was happening and had the tape on there before it had time to collapse.

yup. the flexible worm cable has broken off from the stupid OEM plastic part.

Just need to drill out one small rivet and pull off some of the furry part of the rod so it can thread into the replacement regulator clip.

Someone else around here came up with the suction cup idea. I always meant to order a pack of them but...

The picture hanger things was the best on-the-spot alternative I could come up with.

You're really suggesting that pulling the furry part of my rod would help? I suppose I could give it a shot... :hat:

There is no shame in taping up a window, member of that club and I see Libby's all the time with tape on their windows.

No no. I was briefly describing what you would need to do with replacing the window regulator clip.

Order one off ebay yet?

It's about a 30 minute job. Hardest part is wrestling the whole assembly out and back in again.

Last year i joined The Window Regulator Club my rear right window stop working after 2 year i was holding that window with duck tape and with a rubber hold door until i get tired having the window useless i began doing research in this site and elsewhere on the internet and many forum members recommended Steiger Performance.

I just order the SP13001 Rear Right regulator repair kit. First experience doing the repair my self and a good product fixed. Is a 30 min. to 1 hr work that depends on your ability. I personal recommended.

Don't worry profdlp windows jeep things like that happens once in life time so welcome to the window regulator club.

Then I can stop now? Good thing, cause my vision is blurry and it's going to be hard enough to see inside the door when I replace the regulator.

I'm not sure exactly what to order. When I put in my speakers last May I noticed that one of the passenger side doors had a replacement regulator. Thing is, I can't remember if it was the front or the rear.

On top of that, I've run into a number of parts in my '07 which were actually either leftover from '06, or getting a head start on the '08 parts run. Until I get in there and look at it I don't know exactly what I'll need.

On the other hand, if I knew for certain that one particular regulator would be absolutely guaranteed to fit I would buy it. I've read that dealer-replaced units might have used something different enough that you couldn't use another "stock" one, even if you knew what that was going to be. (The '07 transition-year problem again.)

I'd order the thing right now from Amazon if I could because I'd have it by the weekend, which will be my first chance to put it in anyway.
