Kj 2.4 lumpy under heavy throttle under 2k

hi guys

I bought a jeep kJ over here it’s called a Cherokee sport I have a 2.4 done just over 100,00 mikes , under 2000 rpm in any gear I have found that it coughs and farts

I really enjoy the car other than this and it’s not very economical lol ,

If anyone has any idea on what this could be I would be really great full

Failing this looking for another engine or possible card swap

What year is your Jeep?
Have you scanned for codes?
Sounds like it needs a Dr. and a tune up !

It’s a 2002 , haven’t scanned for codes yet but it’s just so strange because over 2000 revs it’s fine , but if you put your foot down under that it judders and coughs and pinks ,

Have tried running the fuel cleaner through it incase the injectors needed a clean I’m pretty sure the spark plugs and ht leads where changed by my dad recently when we serviced it.

I know indeed it needs a dr but was hoping this was a common thing lol

The spark plug gaps can get eaten quickly.
The under hood sticker should have the correct spark plugs & gap mentioned or see your owners manual.
Reference them and pull a few plugs, replace as necessary for starters.
Definitely check for stored codes. Do you have an engine light on?
The TPS could be worn out. throttle position sensor...

I'd check the Idle Air Control valve...sound like it's not getting enough air at lower RPMs.
