Well, I experienced a terrible even today. I had a wreck... a lady in a nissan altima turned across traffic in front of me and I T-BONED her at 40mph. It completely caved in the passenger side her of car but my KJ held up quite well.
I'll need new fenders, hood, grille, bumper, and KC Fogs but her car was totaled. So, I'm thinking about going with the ARB Bull Bar as a replacement.

Wow, so sorry to hear about the accident. KJ held up well against that, but after all those sedans' B pillars are generally just aluminum foil, and looks like it had no door bars, or very thin ones.. I don't even want to think what would have happened to Altima if you in fact had ARB before this incident...

Man, after seeing that i'm glad i'm driving a KJ and not that car!!

Looks like the Jeep held up damn well considering, new front end parts and thats it. Didn't damage the condensor, radiator, or frame at all?? I imagine it messed up the core support on the passenger side, looks like the headlight is tweaked off so that whole front piece will need replacement, luckily its just parts swapping and no straightening. Did your airbag or seat belt tensioners go off??

I feel your pain man, i just bought my 03 KJ Friday night and plugged a deer driving it home.

Can you imagine if he had an ARB on there?? I bet the driver of the Altima would be dead instead of injured, that car would be crushed door to door since the Jeep's front end wouldn't have given much if any.

Glad to hear everyone is ok. Hopefully they had no passengers as I bet they would be beat up some.

Yea, an ARB would of went through that car. Thats one thing I hate about cars, your head is level with an SUV's bumper.

Haha I wish I would have had the ARB it would've saved me alot of trouble

Yeah, she'll be paying for all the repairs

I would have probably cried if it would have been totaled! I'm just now getting to start doing some bigger mods and it would have been ruined!

Can you imagine if he had an ARB on there?? I bet the driver of the Altima would be dead instead of injured, that car would be crushed door to door since the Jeep's front end wouldn't have given much if any.

Haha, she wasn't really injured the steering wheel hit her chest and he knees hit the dash but other than that she was ok. That would've been pretty cool make the doors touch lol.

Yeah me too! And she was like "Well I know what my next vehicle is going to be!" and the officer working the wreck said "DAMN! THAT THING MUST BE A TANK!"

It did hold up very well, alot better than I expected when I saw her car I thought man my whole front end must be laying in the street, but it wasn't thank god! No the front bumper is about half an inch away from my radiator but its all ok. The headlight bracketry that is behind the grille is broken in several places but the rest if alright. The airbag didn't deploy and the seat belt didn't even lock up, I guess because the shock didn't really get passed the radiator mount, i had a baseball setting in my front passenger seat and it never even moved.

Ouch! I think I saw that on here...

Wow, glad you're okay. Accidents always get the adrenaline pumping.

I hope she had insurance. She probably will look twice before pulling out now. That's how I killed my TJ... :(

She did, haha yeah I know!

Glad to hear everyone is ok. Hopefully they had no passengers as I bet they would be beat up some.

There were no passengers, thankfully or they would have probably been hurt.

Thats very true...

Thanks everybody I'm glad no one was hurt too!
Just wish my KJ wasn't :( oh well with the probable cost of Mopar replacement parts hopefully I'll end up with an ARB :)

Good to hear you are ok Weston.
Just think. If you had a Frankenlift installed, you could be trying out for Monster Jam!
ARB! Now you will need a Frankenlift to keep the nose of the KJ off the ground!:D

Make sure your insurance company gives you a real courtesy car and not some econo box death trap.

I know! I'm saving for the Franky but I think I could handle a saggy nose for a free ARB! :)

Wow!

I'm amazed at the KJ more than anything! That Altima looks like it just got crash tested! But the KJ looks NOTHING like it...

Airbags?

Glad everyone's OK.

Ouch!! Did your airbags go off? I'm glad to hear the KJ is okay though--woulda been a shame to lose one because of another driver's lack of caution--and to a Nissan besides. I dislike them :-X Glad to hear everyone's okay though!

Wow, after reading your long reply post there i'm amazed your airbags and seatbelts didn't go off. That's cool though, less to replace!

My guess, the Jeep didn't take that much shock then if the airbags didn't go off, i agree with your assessment.

Yep, my poor KJ's beat up pic is on here, the Friggin Deer thread. Luckily it was just all plastic that's busted with one slightly dent to the corner of the core support where the bumper fastens to it at the blinker/marker light.

I got the go ahead from my insurance today and called the shop, he's ordering the parts and hoping to have them Weds so he can get it done Thurs or Friday. By the weekend i should have my KJ looking good again!

I know a gal that owns an Altima, i'm going to show her these pics, that car looks like a death trap if it folded up that bad with a T-Bone at 40 mph. Imagine if it was 55 or 60, or faster at interstate speeds? Dead...

And yes, way too many accidents on here lately. Oh, and another thing i noticed?? You, me, and the other guy who just posted about repairing his, all seem to have dark blue KJ's, at least it looks it in the pictures. Patriot Blue i believe is the name? Whats up with that?

Haha yeah I know! The air bags did not deploy, the KJ didn't really receive much shock, I pretty much came to a stop after locking up the breaks and pushing her car about 10 feet.

No, they didn't. Thanks me too! Haha, yes very much so! I'm indifferent about them but I am too!

I hope you get yours back together soon it will probably be a few weeks for me to get insurance lined out but yeah those cars are tin cans glad I was driving a tank lol.
