02 With 153000 I bought it at 123000 since then i have replaced the belt, tensioner, idler pulleys, plugs, wires, battery, clutch, and brakes.

I have had the following repaired on an aftermarket warrenty one month after purchase and the total bill was my $100 deductible. Rebuilt the entire rear end inc. r&p (bad axle seals) rebuilt the transfer case and new brgs in the trans trying to find the whine from a bad ring and pinion.( they wouldnt listen to me) New power steering pump, new front driveshaft and a few small items they found while they had it for 3 weeks.

This jeep suffered from a very negelectful owner prior to me, While doing my first routine service, I found a date stamp on the nearly clogged air filter from 02, so i figured it only got what it desperately needed to keep driving. The orginal recall for lower ball joints was never done till I got it either.

2002 KJ - will have 150K miles by the end of the week
I've owned it since 69K miles - almost 4 years

brakes (front/rear)
CV's replaced
wheel/hub bearings replaced
swaybar links (bad bushings)
steering rack bushings
UBJ/LBJ's (both due to torn boots on the OEM's. replaced with Moog greasables)
front drive shaft
oil pressure sender
front brake lines (passenger side one failed at 100K after crimp rusted through)
accumulator plate in transmission
speed sensor wire above rear diff (repaired/replaced twice)
alternator
idler/tensioner pulleys (my fault - excessive mud)
radiator (my fault - excessive mud)
battery cable (my fault)

Currently needs a new AC condenser

05 KJ Sport, around 195,000 km - 121,875 miles.

aside from maintenance (fluid changes, brakes etc):

- ball joint recall (07)
- rear u-joint (08)
- battery (09)
- passenger side hub (10)

What will happen next year?

Right now I have a bunch of little things I plan to deal with hopefully once I've moved and have a garage and am not renovating a damn house to get it ready to sell... /RANT

- blower motor resistor
- oil pressure sensor
- transfer case position sensor
- rear wiper just stopped working
- edit to add power mirror controls also not working

Also a while back it started misfiring on cylinder 3, swapped coil pack with #1 and been fine since.

on here
05 with 48k mostly highway crusing mileage with moderate off roading.

LBJ recal done by dealer
Pinion seal by dealer under warranty

Other than that, it has never been to the dealer. All original parts so far except as noted above. I do all routine fluid changes and maintenance.

Did you fix it? If so, what did you need to buy?

No I found the part a bit ago and its not cheap. Its the full mechanism as one piece...
Hers is at least in a decent spot and shes not paying to fix it since shes never sitting in the passenger seat :D

Waterpump failure at 17K...fluke covered under warranty

ball joint recalls

front drive shaft (warranty) at 69,000

one front axle seal (warranty) at 69,500

I wonder if the seal's death wasn't hastened by the driveshaft and the craptatstic MT/R"s I ran...

72K now of hard miles some off-roading not bad, in my book.

Some people can't comprehend that regular maint., is not a repair. Many of the vehicles with extreme longevity are noted for following factory maint. intervals. 20 years ago Toy ( them being sneaky lying bastards is nothing new) advertised extreme longevity and when it was checked, their maintenance schedule included heads rebuilt and re-ringing the engine!! LMAO.
