Hey Guys,

I was trying to put together a lift kit part list for my 2012 Liberty KK. This is what I gathered from here and FB. Can you let me know if I'm forgetting anything?

I was going to go with the RC spacer kit and still might.

Front:
  • Bilstein 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable struts. (stock setting, for now, Can adjust for the bumper in the future.)
  • OME 2927 coils
  • JBA UCAs (not sure if these are necessary at this height)
  • Terraflex bump stops
Rear:
  • Bilstein 5100 shocks with KJ boot
  • Bushings for shocks from JBA
  • OME 731 springs
  • Terraflex bump stops (not sure which ones. Cant find them)
I've never been offroading but want to start
Is it worth going this route?
Can I tackle tougher terrain with this setup rather than the spacers?
Am I missing any parts?

Planning on running 165/70r16

Do not got with any spacer lift
and stay away from most Fakebook suggestions
At 2.5 inches which is what you will get from 927/948 combo you do not need JBA UCAs but are a great addition
there are not any Teraflex rear bumpstops, use two hockey pucks per side bolted down to the lower spring perch
I assume you meant 265-70-16s instead of 165-70-16s

for the rear you need to use rear shocks for a 99-04 Dakota CLUB CAB 4x4
front uses stock shocks which are same 02-12
I would not suggest the adjustable fronts, just get Bilstein for the front
SHOCKS DO NOT provide lift, springs do

Awesome.

So since my OEM front struts are good, all I need is

927 springs for the front and 948 for the rear.
Teraflex bumpstops
Hockey pucks ??
Rear shocks (size for a Dakota club cab 4x4 and not a KJ)

Whoops you have a KK so yes you were right on the 731s for rear
Yes you want longer shocks for the rear which the 99-04 Dakota Club Cab 4x4 are the right length
and yes hockey pucks , work great have used them on over 60 Liberty lifts along with many others on here and other sites

I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that I can lift the front with just springs and OE struts.

If I wanted to upgrade the front struts, do you have any suggestions?

Do you mean shocks?

Go with Bilsteins if you can’t get OME’s.

We do not have struts, struts are used on cars with no upper control arms
SPRINGS, read this SPRINGS provide lift , not shocks

Thank you. It looks like I will be going with the following for my 2012 KK:

  • ARB 927 Old Man Emu Front Coil Springs
  • ARB 731 Old Man Emu Rear Coil Springs
  • Bilstein 24-139168 Front Shock Absorbers (4WP has a strut for that number. Amazon has a shock)
  • Bilstein 24-185240 4600 Series Rear Shock Absorbers ( or should I go with the 5100)
  • Teraflex 1903200 Front Bumpstops for 02-07 KJ
  • 4 Hockey pucks, 2.5" 3/8" bolts washers
  • JBA Bilstein bushing kit.
I will probably get JBA UCAs in the future.

Any feedback is welcomed

Thanks.

Thank you Tommudd for all of your help. The Liberty community would be lost without your advice.

I will go with the 24-185660's on the rear and grab some lock washers.
