Hello guys!

I own a Liberty/Cherokee KK 2008 Limited.

I installed a steering wheel from a 2011 Liberty but EVIC, horn and radio controls are not responding.
My old wheel had all these functions.

Any ideas of how I can make it functional?

I was told that I should upgrade my
cluster to a 2011 too. Is it going to be compatible?

I’ve made a lot of research without results...

Thanks for your time!

I think 2008-10 and 11-12 have different electronics. That’s why the programmers for the 08-10’s don’t work on the 11-12’s. Are the wiring harnesses the same when you swapped the wheel? Did you keep the 08 clockspring?

I kept the same clockspring since it’s the same for the years 2008-2012 and the airbag is functional(no errors etc).

The wiring and the connections seem the same(they look alike) but probably the wiring map is different?!...
I attach you an image with the old and new connector.

While connections look the same the wires are obviously different. Perhaps if you got both wiring diagrams you could figure what needs rearranged in connector?

Yes that would be a great idea but I cannot find the diagrams anywhere...

I wanna swap my 2010 kk non controller wheeler with a 2011 kk with controllers wheel, I don’t care if the controllers work or not but if I could I’d rather do that all at once aswell as keeping cruise control operational

I don't think it would be an issue if you get similar year bits but as all my Jeeps are older I can't give you much of an answer.

Yeah I figured so , not a lot out there far as the KK’s go . I’m pretty knowledgeable on the logistics of reading and understanding wiring and using tools. Just a little concerned with you know messing with a airbag system and the newer cars you never really know what’s tied to what to cause issues down the road appreciate it.

Make sure the system is off and dead before you go anywhere near removing
the bag.
