It's just like anything else that is a direct replacement but better brand- to provide a better performing/quality part and in this example, allow people to get OME quality shocks without needed to lift
That is all that is available now , very few of the 132Ls left
You have to remember that we used to not the 132Ls at all
The regular shocks is ALL that came with the OME kit for years, thjats why we used the Rancho RSXs
The 132Ls came along later after much encouragement from ALLJs
to build a longer shock for the KJs due to us all going higher
Its all history folks , have to have been around for a while :happy175:
PLUS its not just JBA, its any one who sells OME lifts for KJs and KKs
they all come over on the same boat, very slowly.......
There are a few people on here running the new style stock length OME shocks with lift.
The way I see it is this. Anything will top out if flexed out. Something has to limit the suspension travel and, without a sway bar, it's either going to be the shocks (topping out) or the UCA. Right?
Would like to see a basic 2.5" lift with the 60069 OME shocks at full flex...because I DOUBT that standard road driving would fully extend the shocks with the weight of the Jeep on it.
Now...are you pushing it close at that rate? More than likely. Would I suggest a longer shock? Most definitely. But top out to the point of destroying the shock? Kinda doubt it.
I ran with the basic lift (no isos) in the rear for a while (750-1000 miles) and it road great and I never got a top out jolt from the rear. Those were new coils too.
Of course now I'm on to bigger and better things (4" and Monroes... )
