It's just like anything else that is a direct replacement but better brand- to provide a better performing/quality part and in this example, allow people to get OME quality shocks without needed to lift

That is all that is available now , very few of the 132Ls left

You have to remember that we used to not the 132Ls at all
The regular shocks is ALL that came with the OME kit for years, thjats why we used the Rancho RSXs
The 132Ls came along later after much encouragement from ALLJs
to build a longer shock for the KJs due to us all going higher
Its all history folks , have to have been around for a while :happy175:

PLUS its not just JBA, its any one who sells OME lifts for KJs and KKs
they all come over on the same boat, very slowly.......

There are a few people on here running the new style stock length OME shocks with lift.

The way I see it is this. Anything will top out if flexed out. Something has to limit the suspension travel and, without a sway bar, it's either going to be the shocks (topping out) or the UCA. Right?

Would like to see a basic 2.5" lift with the 60069 OME shocks at full flex...because I DOUBT that standard road driving would fully extend the shocks with the weight of the Jeep on it.

Now...are you pushing it close at that rate? More than likely. Would I suggest a longer shock? Most definitely. But top out to the point of destroying the shock? Kinda doubt it.

I ran with the basic lift (no isos) in the rear for a while (750-1000 miles) and it road great and I never got a top out jolt from the rear. Those were new coils too.

Of course now I'm on to bigger and better things (4" and Monroes... :) )

I've topped them out( stock length ) just going back the road to my parents
Of course little aggressive driving ( by somes standards but my normal ) but still didn't take that much really at 2.5 inches of lift
Pop the shock hard enough and it will damage it
Just have to be careful
But like bumpstops cheap insurance to get the proper length

Which daystar rear bumpstops should I be going with? I'm guessing anyone of them that has a similar thickness and diameter to a hockey puck will work just fine. Also, where is the cheapest place to get new rear lower isolators? I bought the Libby already lifted with a spacer lift so I'm going to need the lower isolators most likely. I'm putting in all new software when I replace the shocks and coils.

Found rear isolators on fleabay. The only other thing I need now are the bumpstops. Found these on fleabay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141286165207?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Those would probably work if you cut them to the right height. I got my Daystar bumpstops from AllJ's or Jeepinbyal, don't remember. I lived in FL back then so it was actually less expensive to order the bumpstops than to order hockey pucks since no one there had pucks. Lol.

Will I need to shim the front with just the OME springs or will it sit level without the shims? Also, will I need the special mounting kit for the Kyb's in the rear?

Lot of info we don't know
What KYBs are you going with and why them?
What OME front springs are you going with ?
WHY not use hockey pucks, very cheap and work way better than any regular rear bumpstops I have seen or used

Heavy duty front and back. Bilsteins front. KYB Monomax rear. Price is what really did it for me. I won't be offroading much so I couldn't see spending that much more for Bilstein.

Doesn't matter if you never even pull over in your lawn. Better shocks provide a much better ride over all on the street as well and is where most all of us do most of our driving anyways .
Bure aghali is a swahili sayimg translates to " cheap is expensive "
Have seen many go cheap and then complain about the ride they thought they should have
But its your money good luck and have fun!

KYB aren't bad shocks. I've seen a lot of hate on them but no one is really saying why? The monomax is a monotube design, is adjustable, and is half the price of the Bilsteins. Seems like a no brainer to me.
I know Jeeps running around on pro-comps that love them, but if you read any reviews here everyone says that they are garbage.
This Jeep is a third car and all I'm doing is fixing the spacer lift that was on the Jeep when I bought it. I figure Bilsteins in the front so I never have to touch them again, and if I need to swap the rears it won't be a big deal, but I don't see the shocks wearing out on me anytime soon so I'm not so worried.
Plus I can't take too much money away from my main project which is my VW CC.

This pretty much answered all the questions I was going to ask except where is the best place to order from. I've found the parts on a couple of different websites but I'm not sure what the best option is.

Depends on what you're ordering. If you give me a list I can suggest. I bought stuff from ebay, Rockauto, shockwarehouse and Amazon.

When ordering things for a Jeep or anything else I ask myself one question, if there is a problem will that company help me out.
2 companies will jeepinbyal and ALLJs
rest of what some use, well good luck
I had a shock go bad from shockwarehouse, after over 20 emails , 4 phone calls, faxing in invoices where I bought from them and 5 months I gave up and bought new elsewhere.
Have ordered a few things from Amazon, like a new unlocked cell phone, received a jar of face creme instead, took 3 months for them to admit, yes you got the wrong product, then got a 50% refund and Amazon credit on next purchase.
No thanks I'll deal with vendors I can trust

I'm ordering An OME lift kit, extended read shocks, isoltors and bump stops. I think that should cover everything I need to get about 2 inches of lift with 1/2 Clevis for the front.

If the shock was under warranty then I would've went to the manufacturer to get it replaced since the vendor did nothing. I've never had a problem with Amazon not honoring returns in a timely manner. Obviously ebay has its issues but I've always gotten a refund from them too. Rockauto has been solid too.
Everyone has their preferences and it doesn't mean that one person is right and the other is wrong. I feel that some people get "scared" to go against the flow.

What springs are you getting? 927 (Front)/948 (Rear)?

I went with Amazon for all of my shocks because I got a better price from them than JBA
Also ordered my springs from Quadratec because they were cheaper than JBA as well
The only thing I bought from them was the bushing kit and rear iso
I've never had any issue with ordering from the above places and returns with Amazon have been great
UPS came and picked up a headlight I purchased and I got the refund back on my card the same day so I'd never be concerned ordering from them
Now, eBay I wouldn't trust, but that's just me

I wouldn't talk down on JBA because I'm sure they have good customer service and they allow KJ owners and others have better suspension parts
But it'd be very difficult to top Amazon in customer service as they are nothing but customer oriented
I personally work for Amazon, but that doesn't influence my experience with them online
I've just learned how much Amazon cares for their customers, which is also why they're number one in e-commerce

Asked a question before but it got lost in the discussion. Do I need the bushing kit for the KYB Monomax shocks?

I think those were the ones I was looking at.

Do some more reading. That spring and shock combo will give you about 2.5" right off the bat. And 1/2 clevis spacing is too much. Can only do up to 3/8" safely. And that will produce double lift (3/4").
