Whenever im going really slow, like moving around in the driveway, I get a weird clunk like something is lose in the rear. Mostly happens in reverse when hitting the breaks on and off lightly. Is this normal? Sounds like its something to do with the rear brakes. Should I take it in, its under warranty.

heck yes take it in!

That's not normal at all...let them pay for the fix. Could be brakes, but I had the exact same thing in a 1/2 ton Chevy a while back and it was the drive line U-joints failing. Scariest thing I ever say was my Durango, one of the front calipers came loose and started running like a lathe on the wheel--caught that one REAL quick.

maybe

Could be 02 45 RFE ****** normal sound, powertrax, reciever hitch, loose shock mount, brakes, or u-joints. O:)

"Normal" My rig clunks on every movement from one thing or another.

"Should I take it in, its under warranty" Yes, Of course

hey im also experiencing a clunking/scraping sound when applying my brakes at low speeds. happens intermittently but quite often. i brought it to the dealership to have an oxygen sensor replaced(hit an ice patch at 35 getting onto an offramp hitting the brakes to slow down a bit more for the steep decline at the wrong time and ended up doing a few 360's which i guess the force of it caused the wire to break off one of the sensors) and asked them to check into it for me. turns out theres a TSB for this problem. it does indeed concern the rear brakes. they called chrysler up on this and what chrysler has told them to do is to put on a different type of brake pad and also to cut my rotors. its all covered under warranty. i say take it in and ask them if the problem u r experienced is related to the TSB.

I have a low speed clunk coming from the rear. Only appeared after I installed new Rancho shocks. Shocks are not loose, nothing apparent is wrong. Wife even noticed it last night. It's real annoying. I have heard some people say that the rear gate can get loose or out of adjustment. I saw water dripping down the inside of my rear window last time it rained so I'm going to check my door/glass to see if it's loose or something. I don't know what the clunking noise could be. libertycrd, i also have that clunk but i found it to be my shocks themselves causing the sounds. I took them off and drove it around and it was gone.

As for the clunk from Canyonero02, i hear many clunks from my jeep. The slack in the drive train causes a lot of noises. I have gotten use to the brakes making that noise also, all normal to me.

had the TSB done a few days ago and the brake moan is gone which didnt really bothe rme too much to begin with. but hey a free set of rotors and brake pads sound good to me. well i still get the scraping/clunking sound when i go over bumps. im thinking its coming from the front suspension. ill have to take the service manager or mechanic out for a drive. everything is stock on this libby except for the tint, HID conversion and K&N filter.

i think what you're experiencing is only happening mostly when you back up first start up of the day, we see this often and have even had it on my own kj. the steel shims between the rear brake pads and caliper mount are worn. i've only seen them come in a factory non v-line(value line) rear brake pad package. if this is what you're experiencing, i promise these will fix the noise.
