Just gotta say thanks for all the info in this thread. Never towed or been towed with my KJ so this is some very good info on what to do and what not to do. My 01 Outback has a single but pretty sturdy hook point hidden next to the passenger side fog light behind a removable panel. My 98 Ranger has two very sturdy loop points in the front. They protrude thought the chrome (Real metal!!) bumper. Heavy duty and right to the frame.

That point behind the panel is to winch it up on a RORO. May not stand up if it's mired or bogged. But I nderstand that subis are pretty tuff cars, and I'd like to have one.

Mine must be pretty tough as it's survived quite a few "events" while my daughter has driven it. She isn't exactly gentle with it. :gr_grin:
