yesterday i dropped my jeep at the service center here in Muscat, Oman,
for carrying out 3 recalls M35, N46 and the new one R06,
they had finished doing the hitch install but asked another day to carry out R06,

the hitch they have installed is not the trailer hitch, it doesn't have the receiver in the center, does anybody else has received this type of hitch?

they're still figuring out a solution for the R06 recall. It was just announced this year around March I think.

Outside the US they have been doing a safety bar instead of a hitch. Looks like a hitch but isn't one. I have seen a few complaints from people who had hitches and they replaced it with the safety bar....

No, It's not a towing hitch it's a reinforcement bar. It is what they are replacing a lot of the recall with now since it's cheaper. It's not designed to tow things. It is basically just a structural reinforcement beam and nothing more.

They have started doing that here as well so it's popping up in the US where they are switching to the more cost effective reinforcement bar over a full tow hitch.
