Looks nice, what size are those?
Now all you gotta do is get the Jeep in the air more, before a speed bump or pothole makes a tire peel off a flare!

Yep need a real lift and a lot of bumpstop since wheels are too wide and bad backspacing . Flares are going to be history soon if you don't
Good color on the KJ though , black, white, red 3 best colors

I have not had any issue I had my buddy who is a metal fab guy completely rebuild inner fenders. Cut out old inner fender and tucked it back 2" also trimmed the fender flares so I have zero rubbing issues and offroading I have zero issues. I can take more pics to show you what was done.

Tires are 275/70 r 17

So have you at least regeared ?

I like to have a little room for the suspension to cycle above my 32s :icon_lol: and not worry about flares coming off . Is a good color though always liked red , 2nd only to black

Man those are so close

If it works for you then OK but where I go and the roads even where I have to get to my parents the flares would be gone

Assumed that was trimmed setup since you can't really do much unless you start hacking away at metal that needs to be there

Here is a front shot of the trimmed front flare area. Sorry Jeep is dirty was testing offroad performance and checking clearances.

Edit 1: I tried to get a smooth transition line on the front flare to maintain an almost stock appearance.

Edit 2: Prob not gonna post on here anymore seems to be too much hate and negativity in this thread, It's my jeep if it works for me that's all that matters right?

Just seen a lot of things done to Jeep KJs that made them basically worthless afterwards. So when someone mentions cutting into the substructure etc right away you think of the hack jobs
Some torn up / cut up so bad they were undriveable. So just hate to see any like that .
Plus having enough lift allows the suspension to actually work the way it is designed to do

I mean the structural metal was cut out a 6"x8" piece on both sides and was pushed back a few inches and everything was supported and braced properly. Its probably stronger then stock in those sections and of course it is smoothed over properly to maintain a stock appearance.

When saying you cut this, hit that, trimmed the other thing, it's probably best to show pictures of what was done at the same time to prevent other's imaginations from running away and picturing a worse case scenario.

Even with cutting out even a "small section" you are in fact changing the structural strength in that area.
Have you been through the Jeep factory to see how they are glued/ welded and built? Then how can you say it doesn't change anything. I have and had one of the engineers explain torsional strength and all kinds of other high tech terms to Tony and I. In a wreck the whole body works together to make it strong, removing part changes those parameters. PLUS another way I look at all of this maybe it was partially rewelded somewhat, but the kid down the street sees someone did so he cuts/ trims/ and then uses a Bic lighter to reattach some plastic and thinks he's good to go.
I look at builds like troys that is actually stronger now than it was stock, he didn't cut anything out. Then the BDS build, yes they cut a lot BUT built a complate cage from front bumper to back so its now more of a buggy with KJ clothing than a KJ
Only thing done on mine is the pinch weld pounded over and original liner melted back over it, no need to cut away
Oh well hopefully the insurance company doesn't see it :icon_lol:
Carry on. Have a good day Red color is still looking good
