Even with cutting out even a "small section" you are in fact changing the structural strength in that area.
Have you been through the Jeep factory to see how they are glued/ welded and built? Then how can you say it doesn't change anything. I have and had one of the engineers explain torsional strength and all kinds of other high tech terms to Tony and I. In a wreck the whole body works together to make it strong, removing part changes those parameters. PLUS another way I look at all of this maybe it was partially rewelded somewhat, but the kid down the street sees someone did so he cuts/ trims/ and then uses a Bic lighter to reattach some plastic and thinks he's good to go.
I look at builds like troys that is actually stronger now than it was stock, he didn't cut anything out. Then the BDS build, yes they cut a lot BUT built a complate cage from front bumper to back so its now more of a buggy with KJ clothing than a KJ
Only thing done on mine is the pinch weld pounded over and original liner melted back over it, no need to cut away
Oh well hopefully the insurance company doesn't see it :icon_lol:
Carry on. Have a good day Red color is still looking good
