do you need to do anything special if you change the radio in the kj? Is it just a matter of swapping them out or do you need to put a code into the computer? Let's just say that you have a single disc for example and want to put in the 6 disc changer model instead. Thanks for the help!!

I don't want to beat this to death, but do the 05 models work in the 04s? I would be replacing the radio with the slider controls for bass and treble with the one that has buttons for bass and treble and the better display. Thanks for your replies!!!

Same unit just for different controls/buttons? Are there any expenses involved? If you are doing a swap for the same, why not go aftermarket? I know some people don't like the look, but why spend $$ for the same thing.

The IP (instrument panel) are the same and the radio should fit just fine. The wire harness for the radio plugs right up and the radio face will fit. Could you just add the 6-disc changer which is located in the rear anyways? Or does the 6-disc changer allow you to shove 6-discs in the radio? I don't have that but looked into it some time ago. When you say better display, do you mean for navigation?

RBQ (6-Disc Changer) has in dash receiver. So you can load all 6 CDs in the dash, unit itself. It is same size as other radios so it will fit fine.

I want stock look. I don't like little buttons you get into a wreck with. Plus, I want the mopar sub someday too. OK, I have a stock RBK. It has the old looking "sliders" for bass and Treb. I will be looking on ebay or whatever for a 6-disc 2005 style (buttons for bass and treb). I think I would have to spend at least $200 for the same amount of power. I have the infinity speakers too and don't want to jeopardize the integrity of the sound. It sounds great right now. Thanks for the replies guys!!!!:D

oh... the display just has bigger numbers and I could be wrong and not remember right, but you can see what time it is and see the time of the current song you are listening too. Also, when you change the volume it gives you a number of what volume tic you are on.

As long as it is the oval face plate and not the big rectangle, you're good.
