Will 16" jeep wrangler 5 star rims fit my KJ
5 star rims ?????
If they are from before JKs yes, JKs have a 5 on 5 bolt pattern and won't fit unless you use spacers which is :disgust:
then depends on width, if you have a lift etc
can't tell what you have

ok so your saying that my 2003 KJ is a 5 on 5 not 5 on 4.5. The wrangler is a 4 door with 5 star rims...

Are all 02-07 Liberty rims Interchangeable? I have an 07 Liberty and looking at the 04 Renegade rims. Looking to make sure they will work before buying. They show to have a different offset then my factory ones. They show the 04 offset at 31.75mm, where as I think the steel ones that came with mine are like 41mm. Still looking to keep the same tire size of 225/75r16's.

Here is a pic:

im asking again, partly because my original question wasn't answered 2 years ago lol. I have stock 17x7' Chrome Clad wheels w/ 1" wheel spacers (used to clear the control arms, sway bars and fenders). I am interested in putting a 16" wheel on.
Do I go with 16x7 or 16x8?
What backspacing should i get?
Do I need the spacers still?
Has anyone painted/powder-coated the chrome clad wheels and liked the outcome?

Thanks

Just buy a set of factory sixteen inch alloys from an other KJ. 16"X7" Limited, Sport, Renegade
and you can run your wheel spacers if you desire and run 245/70-16's, 245-75-16's, or up to
265-75-16's tires on the 16X7 or stuff some 16"X8" MOAB wheels with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern
(and you won't need spacers.) and run 255-70-16's and 265-75-16's.
Our future mod as well.

As far as painting the chrome clad wheels, do a search here, there is at least one
write up with photo's and they look better than the tacky plastic "Chrome" plated alloys.

Im getting new rims n tires so, right now on it theres the stock 16x7 with 5.5 backspacing, so if I go with 16x8 with 5 backspacing that will move the tire out 1.5" closer to the edge of the fender right?

yes and will rub if not lifted
7 inch wide wheel does better really
7 inch wide 4 inches of backspacing on lifted KJ looks good

OK guys am totally lost now with numbers ,

i just installed OME lift without any extras ,and i have now 245/70/16 on stock steel wheels

with no rubbing even before the lift.

but i wana go bigger tires ,was thinking about 245/75/16 or 255/70/16

so do i need to change the wheels on both options ?

and will wider wheels like 8 inch do any problem ?

thanks,
Ahmed

alright I just went through all this wheel stuff.
a little late as I just put the 4th set of wheels on in 3 weeks. I tried bigger backspace 3.75, 4" & no go on 15 x8's. The Cragars and the MB razors as well as the cheap mex. rims I bought first rubbed on the threads sticking down from the lower control arm that secures the bushing. finally got a Level 8 Tracker matte Black w/ -30 offset and 3" back space these fit great got more than and 1" of space between the wheel and the bolt threads. No More Rubbing!!! :gay:

U don't have to change the wheels 16's are 16's u will if u want an 8" wide wheel and they will stick out a little. you may have to trim the wheel wells a little with the tire size increase especially if u go wider as the outer diameter of the tire will be closer at the quadrents near the fenders and bumper
at least this was the case when I put 265/70 r17's on my 2012 KK. now im on 15x8's w/ 31x10.5's could be a little bigger for me

So i f i add 1-1.5 spacer to stock steel wheels 5-5.5 inch BS ,will it be same result ?

Yes you could if you want to run spacers I wouldn't but its up to you
Stick with 7 inch wide wheels if going aftermarket , no need for 8s at all

2012 20" on a 2003 fe

Will factory 20" 5 star jeep liberty wheels fit and work on an 03 liberty? Mines the freedom edition and I like the wheels I have but would like to get a set of 20's for summer and put snow/mud tires on the ones I have.

Depends on tire size and how much your 11 year old springs have sagged
