Was hoping to add a CD changer, but I think the deal we made may have fallen through. We tried the factory head unit with larger disc capacity, but the sound wasn't as good. Thought a separate changer might work better. BUMMER

um, if he is indeed trying to "stir the pot" then aren't you feeding into that by your responses, and comments LOL IF someone is blatently trying to stir a pot, then ignoring them and or thier comments will end the actions in the future. LOL

Not saying he is or is isn't...I know nothing about the mechanics of vehicles, as far as i know a V8 is a drink made from blended vegetables! HEHEHEHEHEHE

And a tasty tasty drink made from blended vegetables, at that!

I wish mine came with a cigarette lighter.

Not for lighting cigarettes.(angel)

Ours has the smokers kit that has never been used!
A cigar lighter and an ashtray(That holds spare change) that takes up
residency in the forward cup holder if you use it (and is usually gets
tossed under a front seat!

Anyway, the one option I would of really liked, would of been the diesel
engine!

I wish I had a sunroof, I loved it on my Explorer. I also wish I had the Rene light bar, which might conflict with the sunroof. I don't know enough about the whole building of the KJ so I don't know if you can have both. If I can't have both then I wish I had leather. Not that I like leather, it's just the cloth fabric is shit. I love the water spots that never go away.

I wish I had a sunroof...
My sisters KJ has one and I'm jealous...
4.7 or even 5.7 would be great, as well as the 242 transfer case..
Oh and off-road package would be nice, as well as leather.

Sunroof, since it's one of those options that are too hard to ad afterwords.

As far a OEM stuff is concerned, I have already added:

1)Cruise control,
2)Renegade light bar,
3)Park assistance,
4)Skids,
5)Auto dimm rear view mirror
6)RB3,
7)Subwoofer,
8)CD changer
9)Evic with Home link & TMPS
10) Power seats
11) Passenger's Grab Bar

I would have added the sunroof by now if it was n't so $$$$$

Do not add a sunroof!!!
Horrible idea, as my old XJ had one installed and my buddys car had one installed, the seals last about a year or two (til the warranty is up) they open up then out so they actually only open half way, has no front vent shield to stop wind noise...

I love the water spots that never go away.

That is one disappointing thing about these vehicles, especially if you are into surfing, and / or surf fishing....(and I do both).....
The first time I took my new Renny surfing and got back in wearing a wet wetsuit, well those stains and many more have taken up perminate residence on both my front seats.

And that's with putting a towel down on the seat first.....

The only thing I wish that my Libby would have been equipped with is a damn sun glasses overhead compartment. I will gladly install anything else solely for the learning experience but seriously how difficult would it have been to add it?

Have you followed his claims that he knows little to nothing about jeeps and likes to throw stuff out just to stir the pot?

Either way, the common sense test is simply that if it sounds like BS it probably is. If you have never seen anything else about something as significant as a factory V8 Liberty sold to the public anywhere else, does that pass the test as something you should pass off as the truth w/o verification? If the info is close to plausable, maybe you give them a pass....If it is so far into left field like this... well.... see paragraph 1.

haha sorry i didn't mean to "stir the pot" by saying 'jump down eachothers throats'. and I get out plenty. Just seemed like the guy should be able to say what he heard from a friend and get away with it thats all. not like he tried to claim it was a cold hard fact, he just said that he had heard it.

wow.. interesting..

The individual that i heard this information for works for a dealership in NW indiana. Like i said.. HE todl ME that HE worked on a series of these Libertys with V8s in them and specifically mentioned that they were for export only. Something about the import laws on thier destination required that they be either all hopped up or capable of meeting specific requirements in order to ( memory gets fuzzy here) make the fees for the xfer cheaper, or make the xfer capable at all.. He stated at the time that these were incredibly ONE OFF vehicles.. He is a diesel tech, and he teaches auto class at a highschool in NW indiana.. i have never had reason to question his morals, nor his BS capabilities..

Take it or leave it.

Do you want me to be an awesome contributor? fine. ask me questions about computers. But i dont recall reading in the rules that the ony way someone can really be of value here is to contribute how-to after how-to and if you dig far enough back when i first startd here i did contribute to the EVIC thread with tips of alternatives to Evic plugs and i beleive even some wiring pinouts....

I would much rather try to keep to waht i know. and i KNOW that there are others here with much more detailed knowledge about automotive technology..

btw.. consider yourself reported.. flaming me in random thoughts is cool.. but coming after me here on an unrelated topic is just juvenile..

OK, now that it is 2 items, cruise control and either the Rene light bar or steering wheel radio controls, those two are about even.
