that looks so beautiful! I would love to take a trip there. Isnt that where close encounters of the 3rd kind showed that tower? how cool is that!

In these pics there's about 150lbs of gear in the back and 3 passengers (2 in the back seat, one up front.. add 200lbs when I get in crazy.gif). The canoes and roof rack weigh about 120-130 lbs. All told it's over 1000lbs with very little sag and it drove like a charm.

How long are your crossbars? I have 50" thule bars and could barely fit a single canoe on the roof!
Se7enLC said:yeah, I've done a single canoe on the roof, and ratchet ties are key. I just put it directly on the crossbars I have and ratcheted it down. Didn't even need to tie the front and back it was so solid, just two straps across the canoe.
