I have bougt a Powertrax No - slip for my 2003 Liberty/Cheroke at
USD 440,- incl freight.

Now, some of you scared me a lot and I am thinking of getting ARB Air Locker instead.

The dealer is willing to send me Air locker, but he claims 15% restock fee of the Powertrax, which gives me abou 1100 usd total for the air locker and compressor

Help me:

Should I go for the Powertrax and be very afraid during the next 5 months on icy winterroads on heavy studded wintertires
or should I accept the loss and go for air locker???

Thats hard to answer Fjellfinn. I think everyone dreams of having the ARB locker so most people will say that. Is it the best option giving you will be driving on ice most of the winter, YES. If you can afford it without putting a major dent in the check book then go for it.

The only down of the ARB is a shop would most likely need to install it since drilling in the rear diff is required for the air line. You will also need to add the price of labor onto that $1100.. \:D/

I am not happy with the on road manners of the Powertrax at all and I would go for an ARB if I had the money.

I didnt have the money and the seller was not willing to restock the Powertrax without a big fee,
so I am stuck with the Powertrax :-((

My options is to sell it here in NOrway or wait until springtime and mount it and see what happens to the KJ.

Just now it is summerroads outside, but its just above freezing, anyday now we can have snow, lots of it, which is usual for this time of the year.

And when we get one meter of snow, it usually lasts until late April, maybe even May \:D/

Go easy on the skinny, and don't drive it like a sports car, you won't have problems.

I'm actually more than happy with my power-trax no-slip. For what it is, I think it offers great bang for the buck and would do it again. If you are careful on the road you should be fine. However an ARB is nice but 3-4 times the cost.
