Preventive fan clutch swap?

Just swapped the 21 year old original fan clutch on the XJ due to a temp creep at idle and I got to thinking, would it be wise to swap the KJ one out to be safe? I read somewhere online that they should get swapped out every 3-5 years. Not sure if that's BS or not. Don't think mine is bad, but has anyone swapped one out just due to age?

Well, Mine is an 05 like yours with the OEM one still......knock on wood..it's not 21 yet like your XJ either......LOL Not planning on changing it. Don't jinx our 05 KJ's......LOL
