Yeah the place I went to said it was legal and he signed the recipt saying it was legal so I'm almost 100% it's legal. I went to Tint King i here in MA, and they tint the undercover state cop cars so I think I'm all set. And your tint^^ on your jeep looks so nice, I definitely would have done 20% but it's not legal :/

As long as you got that receipt, you should be good to go.

Thanks. It was the first thing I did and wouln't take it back. My 15% isn't legal either, but for only $40 to do them, I can risk it.:D They aren't very strict on tint here in NC. They mainly use it to initiate a traffic stop on a suspected drug vehicle. Otherwise, they don't care.

I want to get my windows tinted, but I'm kind of hesitant. Living in the Pac NW, during the winter we have something like 7 1/2 minutes of daylight, and I'm fearing it would just seem dark all the time. In the summer, otoh, it would be pimp.

You can still see out of mine very well even in the dark. I don't think it will be a problem.

Yeah it's definitly not dark at all from the inside. From the inside you can barely tell a difference from the front windshield which isn't tinted, from the side tinted windows.

My windshield is the factory tint strip, which I assume is also 15-20%.

Factory?? Mine had nothing from the factory on the windshield.

Edit:

Just checked, I think I know what youre talking about. That black part above the windshield is to hide whats behind it since the windshield extends up past the top of the viewable area inside the Jeep.. Heres mine(ooooold pic)..

Blake, you are wrong. He is not talking about that strip on the windshield. He is talking about 02/03's (Select) had blue tint, that is faded towards bottom. All other jeeps had it, but our KJs. Grand Cherokees also have it as well, check your hemi.
Oh, did you see if yours had any discoloration? The part under the visors held its color.

Yea, I thought that it may of been another cost cut but 67customs has a 2005 liberty. Does anyone have a 2002-2003 liberty to confirm that they do that have that blue tint on the windshield?

Our WK doesnt have it but the zj and xj do.

My '07 has no windshield tint, just a small "dotted" area around the rearview mirror

Window tint is a must here in the Great American Desert Southwest...

...not only does it look good, it really cuts down on the heat from the sunlight coming through the windows.

And here's an idea for you....

If you put tint on the windshield, have them run two 1/4 inch accent strips just below and parallel to the main tinted area about 1/8 inch apart. It really adds a finished touch to the tint across the windshield.

Something like this....

I don't think tint that thin would hold too long.

I first had it installed on my Honda SI in '94 when I first bought it new while living in Maryland. Drove it around back East until we moved to Arizona in '97.

I had to replace the windshield a few months after moving here because of a crack caused by a rock. All in all, the tint and accent stripes were on the car for almost four years. No issues, even in our summer heat.

I paid extra each time for the windshield tint and accent stripes. You go through windshields like crazy down here, so when I replaced the next one I stopped putting tint on the windshield all together.

Yeah, it hides the EVIC and the wireing from the rearview mirror. Mine goes down all the way across where yours dips down right where the rear view is.

Just to clarify, I haven't added any tint to my frint windshield what so ever.

Mine doesn't fade nor is it blue at all.

That's not what we are referring to.
04> does not have that.

The one you are referring to is the black dotted cover up. (which we all have, and you can't call that a tint as it doesn't block anything other than rearview mirror)

The other one is what timmer posted, darker denser tint on the top, fading as it goes down. That's the stock faded tint.
