Hi. I've returned after time away from my 2007 KJ . I'm again seeing if anyone can help with my alarm siren problem.
The alternator stopped charging, the battery ran dead. I believe that it could've caused this problem with the alarm siren.
If I close the car with the remote key fob, after 20 seconds the siren goes off. This started after the alternator change and battery recharged.
I've tested the battery and pretty confident it's now ok, even cranking voltage is good. I've changed fob battery and tried both key fobs
I've disconnected the battery, and even connected both battery leads for an hour before reconnecting.
I've read of reset procedures, usually turning the key, holding buttons in sequence and hopping on one leg, but none have worked and all have been for other models, not the KJ.
Does anyone have the KJ specific reset procedures?
I can only lock the car sitting in the car, then exit and lock the driver's door by key, the key doesn't lock the whole car

Re- reading the orignal thread and this, you mention a ‘siren’ - As far as I know, the jeep KJ series used the vehicle horn to alert on the system. If you do have a siren, it seems to indicate an after-market alarm kit.

If that is so, you might need to crawl under the dash and see if there are extra components that are spliced in.
