Hey, I've been scanning the forums and have seen various threads talking about the rear glass magically opening on its own, but that appeared to be more electrical related.

anyways, when going over bumpy terrain, my rear door and hatch glass rattle. is there an adjustment to make one or the other shut more securely, so they don't vibrate?

i've glanced over it but haven't started working on it yet. just one of those annoyances that i'd like to resolve.

thanks!

I had the same issue along with the rear seat rattle. I can't remember which forum I found it on, but they said to use wd-40 on the latch mechanism. I thought it was too easy to be true, but it works. I just opened up the glass and sprayed inside the latch and did the same on the latches on the rear seats. Two months later, only had to respray the rear glass latch a second time. Cant believe how quiet it gets without the rattling.

Back on topic..The rear window does rattle on mine as well sometimes, is there not an adjustment to tighten it back in as well?

I am going to have to give this a try. Have been meaning to try something and fix the noises for a while. The passenger side rear seat squeak drives me insane on the longer off road excursions. I always forget to do anything about it till it's to late. The rear glass has gotten worse as well. Think I found something to to today. :D

Yep...mine rattles/squeaks all the time if my seals are not cleaned and wiped down. Drives me bonkers! I use Sil-Glyde as well...NAPA has their own version, too.

Good to know NAPA has something. Going to have to go swing by there and pick some up. My ol' gal could use a good cleaning. Hopefully can get the noises to stop.

My rear window latch rattled also. After trying all the suggestions, none worked. So, Here's what I did. To the left of the latch is a square, plastic covered, spring loaded piece. Glue or somehow attach a piece of rubber, fabric or something that's not too hard to the spring loaded piece. I used a piece of felt about 1/8" thick and NO MORE RATTLE ! You may have to try different thicknesses for your application depending on how loose the latch mechanism is. No need to remove swing gate interior panel. The piece is in full view next to the latch.

Hope this works for you.

I just sprayed my latched with WD40 and that fixed it 100%. So much quieter now.
