I've noticed that in the humidity or coldness, whenever the car is unlocked, the rear glass happily opens itself. Today was very cold. I unlocked the car, threw my bags in and started it. About 10 seconds after the glass popped open. Later, I went to the parking lot and unlocked the Jeep and again the glass popped open. I'm not sure what I can do to fix this but any help would be great!

ALSO: At times, or lately I've noticed, whenever I unlock the Jeep normally, and pull the rear gate open, the glass pops out as normal, but the glass latch latches close and prevents me from closing the glass, unless I press the glass unlock button. Not really as big of a problem as the above problem, but tedious.

Thanks for any help.

Vehicle is a 2007 Jeep Liberty (just reached 195,000km!!!)

Sounds like it's just a faulty latch, replace it and be done
Some part inside of the locking mechanism is probably damaged in some way due to moisture and the only logical fix would be a new assembly

You also may find something a bit loose once you get the tail gate cover off.
If I remember right, there also was some way to make an adjustment to the window latch?
Check the FSM....

When we bought the 05 it did this, the original owner had an estimate for 380 to bucks to repair it .
So she deducted that amount PLUS what I already talked her down on.
Took it home, cleaned it really well, and sprayed it down good with Aerokroil. Its been working ever since .Not saying that will fix yours but it did that one.

If you unplug the pig tail it will stop automatically opening. You will have to use your fob.

Mine died and no amount of oil could resurrect it.

I think the button is 15 bucks if your parts department can find the part number. Results on ordering replacement vary.

I replaced the switch on mine for $13.00. The rusty little clip that holds it wasn't available as an individual part but the $250.00+ handle assembly I didn't buy supposedly came with a new clip and switch.
