Prices in CAD$

MOPAR 52088682AB $50

MOOG CK641180 $65

DORMAN 521982 $75

MEVOTECH CMS25157 $90

MOOG RK641180 $100

So I'm looking at control arms due to a slight drift when i gas it vs letting off the gas. I'm kind of thrown off by the mopars being the cheapest. Some have a rather different design. I want whatever is strongest /serviceable as ill be doing a lot more wheeling this upcoming summer.

There is a free replacement/ recall on them from Chrysler Canada.
Go to Link: Safety Recall Information | MOPAR
& type in VIN #.
The strongest I think are these that came with my 04 KJ.

Spicer bushings were acquired,

and where the axle side bushings had rubber cut-aways or slots carved in them, I filled in the slots with windshield urethane to take the slop out & make em stronger.
Allowed the Urethane to cure 2 days before having a 4x4 shop remove the old ones & use a 30 ton press.
They had to literally burn off the old bushings to safely press/ get em out!

I bought Mopar lower arms for mine... I wouldn't bother with pressing out the bushings, for the little bit extra ya get all new steel IMO.

I have a set of Mopars in the shop. Offroaded once, less than a month of daily use.

Then went to clayton arms. Much better.

Which did you go with? I've heard of the TJ arms being used before but don't know which ones.

They are long arms. So new body brackets too.

Yes TJ or WJ adjustable arms will work, but make sure of the lenght before you order.

Ah yes, figured some cutting/welding might be involved. Would be interesting to have a direct bolt up kit. :emotions34:

Your not gonna have a bolt on kit for the KJ without some cutting atleast. The brackets could be bolted on.

Couldn't you use WJ adjustable rear lowers won't they just bolt right up?

How did that work? Did you cut off the old brackets and drill new holes? Was it the WJ arms that you used?

Are claytons overkill? They seem pricey

No they are long front lower arms from clayton

Yes you have to cut off the body mounts . I make the mounts that weld to the frame rail.

Overkill? Have you seen my KJs and everything I build for them? But expensive......try and build them yourself, you will come $60 to their price

I meant overkill for myself [emoji14], if it involves welding I might consider waiting till spring to do new lower arms, dunno if i wanna shell out 400+ though for the arms, I'm in Canada as far as pricing.
Was hoping to find out if any of the oem replacement arms are grease-able or serviceable

None of the OEM or anything made for the KJ is greaseable. Aftermarket ones yes of course
Just a different view, I have had to replace mine once in over 218,000 miles, Thankfully it was the same time they came out with the recall :icon_lol:

Hmm I'm gonna check if i still didn't get control arm recall and if not will probably just go mopar then, i have a feeling i won't have recall cause ive already gone in for trailer hitch and they never mentioned it

Ps: did you fill yours with polyurethane in those vent looking holes in the rubber?
