I read the speaker replacement thread, too. What I'm not clear on is this:

1. Can you use aftermarket speakers and connect OE amps?
2. Can you use aftermarket speakers and aftermarket amp powered by OE radio?

I like the in dash 6 disc changer and steering wheel controls of the factory system.

As far as I know stock RBQ (6CD) does not have built in AMP to power aftermarket speakers. Regarding stock amps, I think they are built into the front speakers, I don't think there is any way to reuse them.

As said on many topics, you can get aftermarket radio and keep stock speaker system or replace both, but I don't suggest replacing just the speakers with stock system unless you get a sound processor or something to improve it.

You have option of getting new radio with wired remote input, which you can buy PAC interface and keep your steering wheel controls.
