Anyone know anything about RRO?

It seems the general consencious is that "Budjet Lifts" using spacers are not worth the trouble.
Does the RRO "external strut spacer" design solve or reduce any of the inherrant problems with spacer kits?

Sorry if this has been covered in a previous post, I couldn't find anything about it

Never mind, I found several posts on the subject.

Seems I'll be saving for the OME/Rancho combo. Seems like that's what most of your guys are running.

I actually have their Rockfather lift with Rancho shocks and OME coils. But RRO the company are rip-off artists, though, and should be avoided. Shop elsewhere. I would suggest JBA or piecing your stuff together, which is often the cheapest route.

I actually called them today to ask a few questions. The dude that answered the phone didn't seem too interested in helping or trying to sell me anything.
Maybe he was just having a bad day, but he lost any future business from me.

Rocky Road Sent-Out the Wrong Parts, Makes it Prohibitively Expensive to Return

No that is the normal everyday treatment they use for all new and former customers :happy175:

Rocky Road Outfitters (RRO) sold me the wrong shocks which do not even
fit
their bar pin eliminators(BPE). RRO made it prohibitively expensive for
me
to attempt to return the shocks.

By telephone, I ordered Bar Pin Eliminators (BPE) and a pair of front
shocks
(Brand: Old Man Emu (OME)) from Rocky Road Outfitters (RRO). In the
phone
call, I asked the salesperson, Matt, several times to verify that the
shocks
had eyes on the bottom to bolt to the BPE's. RRO said the shocks had the
eyes on the bottom to bolt to the BPE's, both of which they were selling
to
me. The salesperson put me on hole for a few minutes, while he checked
the
stock room to verify that the shocks were in-stock. He said the shocks
were
in stock.

Soon after I received the box containing the BPE's and the pair of front
shocks, I examined the shocks to find out that the shocks did not have
the
eyes at the bottom. I immediately called RRO, to tell that they sent me
the
wrong shocks which did not directly bolt to the BPE's. The salesperson
attempted to place the blame on ARB and me. The salesperson lied and
said
that I called him asking for a specific part #. (Not true. When I
called
and placed the order, I only had an idea of a few older part numbers of
some
shocks that were used on various other Jeeps.)

RRO refused to take any responsibility for their mistake. Moreover, RRO
made
it prohibitively expensive for me to return the shocks. RRO said I had
to
pay the return shipping nor would I be refunded any of my original
shipping
costs. (RRO said they "Would waive the 15% restocking fee" That is no
skin
off their back.)

A customer can not depend on RRO to suggest or sell the correct parts.
RRO
does not add any value to Old Man Emu products. You might as well
purchase
directly from ARB, off Amazon.com, or someone else. I will never again
do
business with RRO.

Sorry you had to go through that. RRO runs hot and cold - folks either have no issues at all or its the worst kind of customer service. Unfortunately you got the worst.

When a company is that inconsistent I just avoid them - I don't have time for surprises :icon_twisted:

Been trying to tell people for 10 years, too bad you had to find out the hard way
They'll contact you soon I'll bet, since you are posting on every site there is! Keep it up!

That's too bad, and no way to run a business. I haven't had any issues with them, in fact they've been great to work with. I'm only 45 minutes away from them though...being local might be the difference. They know you won't just show up on their door step like I will. Hope you can get it worked out!

Sent from my mystical handheld gizmo.

My expereince has been good. I just got some roof rails from them fairly quick. Those are made to order or in small batches. Took about 2 weeks during the holidays. That being said I did get my lift from JBA.

My only dealing with them was when I placed an order online for my upper strut plates and upper control arms. I guess that I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm not trying to defend them at ALL. I just wanted to put this out there. I will probably never do any other business with them in the near future. Unless I have an issue with their upper control arms that they say have a life time warranty.
