So my power steering pump REALLY hates the cold

Hey guys! Just wanted to update this thread on one of my findings. I found that if you work the wheel back and for directly after you start the Jeep, the whining doesn't happen. This leads me to think that once SOMETHING gets some fluid around it (O-ring or hose?), it does NOT let air into the system. I can live with this.

Here is something you can try.
It would be easier to get both wheels off the ground to do this but..
Without starting the Jeep, turn wheels full from R-L 10 times. This will bleed air out.
Now take a look inside the PS reservoir. If you got bubbles..you got air going in.

I actually just replaced my power steering pump from the same exact problem. And i couldnt find any issues with it at all. Just so loud i was afraid of waking my 2 and 3 yr old when i left for work at 4 am. new pump is quiet as can be now and a simple replace.
