Hi,
Just a question.
When you replace the starter kit, what does it contain?
- The barrel and the key.
- The SKIM.
- The PCM.
- Is the BSM absolutely necessary or not?
Thanks

Ahh! Now I see, the problem is all the modules are coded to the main ECU, if you replace one the ECU sees it as an attempted theft so it puts the light on the dashboard and blocks fuel injection.
The way round it is to replace all of them with a matching set including the ECU and the matching keys from the donor car.
Or to get the ECU reprogrammed so it accepts a new set of equipment.
Luckily our CRD ECU is very similar to the same age BMW so a lot of the ECU repair companies can work on it.

Is the BSM related to the pcm or the skim?
I bought a micropod II and i'm waiting for delivery.

I'm not sure with the BSM, the SKIM and ECU are tied together.
Just a thought & you have probably done it but..... did you use the key that came with the ECU and SKIM that you have fitted to the car? The transponder is inside the plastic bit on the key. The old key will fit the lock but won't deactivate the SKIM.

The flashing light is showing a transponder fault so it can't see the key!

And, There is no flashing light, tomorrow I'm making a video.
Here is what I changed on my car except the airbag calculator.

That's odd, I can't remember, did the engine ever rotate when you turned the key?

OK, from the video it sounded like the engine wasn't turning, I was concerned it was locked up! The sound on the video is difficult to understand, the click sounded like the engine failing to turn!

I see you have a flashing light, the manual says that is is a transponder issue.

The flashing red light is when I open and close the doors with the remote control.
There is no code P1685 since I changed the skis, skim and the pcm.
Only solid red light remains.
