Don't wanna jump in on the wagon here, but wow this is god awefull just noticed this today. If memory serves, am pretty I know what was all meant by the Herbert stuff, it's funny well stupid actually. I looked it up too and yeah I was right. Believe it or not guys and any gals it is a star trek reference. There is an episode called the way to eden or something when the ship pulls in a stolen shuttle with those hippies on board. They called kirk herbert. That is "an insulting reference to a minor official of the same name, notorious for his rigid and limited patterns of thought." I wiki-ed it, a little odd.
