Tire pressure: What's everyone running?

Just curious, I'm toying around with it right now. Used to run 33-35 but the max PSI on my Terras (P rated) is 35 so I figured since I'm not at the weight capacity I should back it down to 30. 245/70/17.

I want to do the chalk test but I don't think there will be dry or dry tires till the 4th of July at this rate. Damn rain. :blah:

Is 30 in the zone? Or does anyone recommend something different?

For all the tires I've ran..................

KJ at stock weight to 5500lbs............

225/75R16(E) and 265/75R16(D) MT/R's(old style) - 38-40psi

265/75R16 Trxus MT's(D) - 38-40psi

KJ at 6200lbs+.............

315/75R16 Destination MT's(E) - 35psi

35x12.50x15 MT/R K's(C) - 27psi,which have a max psi rating of 35psi also.


Really depends on rim width but if your on stock rims 30-32psi should be okay and wear good.

32psi on the stock rims with 245/70/16 on my 02. Looks like the TPMS tells me I'm around 34 all around on the 235/65/17 on the 05.

245/70/16 on stock rims at 33psi (2.3 bar) all year around and regardless of passengers/cargo (I don't tow).

Bout 35 on my load range D's. I upped the rears to 40 when I had a full cargo area, towing my waverunner, and bike rack. Drove about 900 miles like that.

33psi front and rear, year round.

If towing a heavy load or loading the rear with a ton of cargo (totaling more than 300lbs, I'll up the rear to 35psi.

Running 32psi in my 245/75-16 at/3's on Teflon coated moabs. Going to be stepping up to 265's here soon, I feel that my wheels are too wide for a 245/75 as I've had some weird tire wear on both my old wild country xtx and Cooper at/3's. Going with a more aggressive at or mud tire this time around.

I am still running 35psi in mine. Same 17" OEM wheels you just sold with your tires, and 245/75/17 Bridgestone Dueller A/T's. Seems ok for me...

This is an issue that's terribly easy to over think. As long as all four are within a pound or two of each other, anywhere from 28psi to 38psi will have almost identical results.
