I was pondering this the other day. Will we ever see upgraded ones like JBA sells for the uppers? I'd drop coin for a set if they ever become available.

mopar are the best ones. Its a get what you pay for kinda thing with those as far as i understand at least
ok correct me if i'm wrong...
JBA UCAs were created to solve 2 problems: non-replaceable ball joint, and clearance/spring contact when over a certain lift height.
what "issues" would an after market LCA be solving? I thought the stock ball joint was the weak link, and that's replaceable with a better one from moog. the bushings can be replaced, also with better ones with moog. short of changing the position of the clevis (i'm thinking vertically) what other changes would you want to the LCA. are people breaking them with some kind of regularity not being reported on here?
There is nothing wrong with the stock LCA's,they are pretty strong as is.I know since I've bounced them off many, many boulders in Colorado and MOAB.
The only reason for wanting different ones is for weight but to keep the strength the materials that would be used would make them twice the price of the OEM arms which are pretty pricey now.
The bushings aren't cheap and paying someone to replace them will bring the bill close to what you would pay for new ones. I'm looking at a set of LCA's on ebay for 160 for the pair. Maybe if you have a press and do it yourself it may be worth it, but if not it would be more cost effective to just buy new ones, unless you buy Mopar replacements.
I'm looking at the Detroit Axle ones on fleabay. Now that someone is saying that they are basically the same, I feel much better about buying them when I get some money.
Please correct me if I am wrong......
But wasn't there a official Jeep recall on the lower control arms?
If so, it shouldn't cost you anything to have them replaced!
