Orlando diesel is about 2.83 a gallon now sorry no 4-wheeler prices for me today. Wish I could just sell my rig and buy a house here. The weather, oh the weather, so much better.

We now have a pretty high fuel tax on diesel - it used to be lower than on petrol, but it was hiked a few years ago by our beloved Chancellor (now our beloved Prime Minister)to rake in even more money for god-knows-what. On top of that, Value Added Tax is levied at a rate of 17.5% on the combined fuel and fuel tax price. The fuel itself, without any tax, would only be about £1.50 per imperial gallon.

Coupled with our other, fairly high tax rates, and record Government borrowing over the last 5+ years, no wonder our economy is in the pan. I believe that in real terms, the UK national debt is higher than it was in WW2.:(

Presently 87 octane regular is at $3.25/gallon in the Anchorage area.
And it is refined from AK crude right here in AK. It includes an $0.08 gallon state highway tax. One of lowest in the nation with the highest cost per gallon.

Today's local prices are $2.64 for regular. Sometimes I can get it cheaper at the local Stop & Shop if I use my card discounts (10-20 cents off per gallon) but they usually jack up their regular prices so the discounted ones are in line. I saw high (91) for over $3.00/gal last week.

I rmember last time gas hit $3.00/gal there was a HUGE outcry of people asking "Why the hell is gas so high?" and it went down a bit when oil dropped. Now oil went back up a bit and gas SHOT back up to $3.00/gal. Oil cartel (censored)!! I can't wait for electric or hydrogen or something-other-than-gas powered cars.

Just passed by the Shell station on my way home a few minutes ago and they wanted $3.45 a gallon. I paid $3.11 when I filled up a few days ago. Gas prices are fawkin' ridiculous.
