I can't get more than 2 years out my upper ball joints. Use Moog Problem solver ones every time. Are they just that ******? I grease them every tire rotation, mostly highway miles. I'm at about 21" IIRC.

I venture a guess it's due to the lack of range of motion. When your suspension tops out it stresses the ball in a way it doesn't like.

Yep! I'd hate to still have the factory style ones and have to replace them every other year.

JBA arms but regular ball joints?
I have the JBA rebuildable ball joints, over 50,000 miles and no issues at all with them
Way better built and range is far better

I am struggling right now trying to talk myself into ordering the JBA upper a-arms. But I don't know which to get (stock or lifted) I'm only going to be lifted to about 20.5''.

Yes I see the JBA rebuildable ones in my future, soon. I've never liked the loose Moog boot set up, with grease leaks.
The quailty of the New JBA's are impressive, and well worth the few extra $.

Should we use an extra washer to hold the boot upwards?

Yeah, just the Moog ones for the JBA, K6292s. I might have to give those JBA ones a shot. Have you seen anyone go through the K6292s? That's what came with my A arms.

Well that is the question for the ages, 1 or 2 washers to hold the boot up.
When I first started testing the rebuildables I installed them and put one washer on one side, two on the other.
Marlin wasn't 100% sure , so now after 3 years or so and 50,000 miles .............they are still like that
Can not see any difference, although the one with the one washer does not hold as much grease, maybe 1 pump or so difference

I have to say yes on the moogs being ******. I've been battling with my ball joints for years on my JK, Switched them up to a higher end rebuildable Dynatracs and so far so good, not quite a year now, so time will tell. (insert shrug emoticon here, cause I can't)

I ran "stock" JBAs on mine for years at about that height. No problems at all with alignment or durability.
