I've used Zymbol, very nice.

I prefer Armorall Leather cleaner and conditioner, not as greasy...

Thanks for all the advice / comments. I think what I'll do is clean them up good which isn't really too hard, and then try Scotchguard. If that doesn't work, I'll try dyeing them. If that doesn't work, I'll look for leather.

I just find it hard to believe that they would have used this material in the first place. Didn't they even test it?

All in all though, if this is the worst dilemma I face with my Rene, I'll consider myself blessed!

I have tried commercial grade "Scotchguard" and it doesn't work either!
Time for some high quality seat covers as the passengers seat looks like I peed all over it!

I guess If I had cloth seats with the staining problem you guys are having, I would get a good set of seat covers.

I have a different staining problem (well not exactly a problem) with mine.....Mine are the light beige leather and I am always afraid of staining them so I keep a seat cover rolled up under the drivers seat. Whenever I work on the jeep, or do something elce where I am going to get dirty, I put it on the drivers seat so I don't end up with a grease stain or something on the leather. When I'm done, I take it off and roll it back up and stuff it back under the seat.

I like the price and look of the Iggy covers, but wish they had a cloth version. I don't want vinyl or leather.

I'm also interested in the Mopar neoprene covers, but want to make sure they cover the full seat back. My brief research indicates that they do on the pre-'05, but '05+ they don't

Got tired of having to clean the cloth seats in my 03...got in on the Igees group buy a while ago...Luv the extra padding and the great finish to my covers...

After thoroughly cleaning mine i don't get this problem anymore. So the best advice i can give, get a machine and clean the grunge out of them. I think with mine if any moisture got on them it brought up the dirt in the fabric and that's why it looked stained. Once i removed all the dirt no problem.

I used to have leather seats in a car, at -20 in the winter it was like sitting on a damn brick.

I keep a thing of disinfecting wipes under the back seat (secured), and use those when ever I get mud on the seats....works nice as well.

Mine are kid proof. The best leather seat in my car is the one my 7-year-old has been sitting on since she was an infant. I remember cringing at the cost of the leather, but I've never regretted it since. My seats would have been HOSED had I not gotten leather.

I haul three kids around in my KJ, no problems despite not having leather. After the cleaning my youngest son spilled grape juice on the seat, beaded up, just took a paper towel to blot it up, left no mark whatsoever.

But yeah, kids are ******* things.

I had a whole gallon of windshield washer fluid leak all over my Lib's back seat. Actually, only the smaller (30%) seat.

How can I remove this nasty stain ?

my 04 seats are the same way. my plan is to reupholster them with something better. i would like a neoprene like material but i haven't really looked into it. probably just steam clean them like everyone says first and see what happens from there.

I took KBOnly's advise and bought a Bissell Little Green machine (with the heat option) from Amazon. I just cleaned the passenger seat and it is drying. The water in the dirty water tank looks like chocolate milk. And this was the clean seat! I will take a before and after pic of the driver seat.

My seats are stained a look crappy. The kids have spilled stuff in the back and I got rainwater on my seat. I figure I will put some covers or something on them one day but for now I just put up with it. 2005 have crappy seats anyway. I have thought about swapping in some other seats, maybe from a 2002-2004 but I have not done it yet. Not sure how to deal with the airbag issues.
