Rain finally stopped for a day so I took advantage and picked up a sheet of steel & then dropped the tank carrier off, annoyingly it has a towbar that has to come off too.
Weird the Italian KJ is all metric and the German WJ is mainly imperial.

Didn't look too bad on the car, just a hole.

Doesn't look to healthy now though!

Annoyingly I can't get in my garage / welding shop because there is a dead KJ blocking the door and another car in there so I'm going to be dodging the weather trying to get it welded up & the forecast is awful for the next few days.

A dry morning so I've been able to clean it up a bit and tack some fresh steel in, it's so weak and flexible with all the rust I've had to weld random bits on to make a frame.

Ready for seam welding & cutting in the drop to clear the fuel takeoff pot. A friend let me use his workshop so I could get on in the rain.

The curved bits are a PITA! But at least it's solid again, wish we had the cheap Jeep parts available here!
I've just ordered some Raptor, I'm going to epoxy prime then blast it inside and out with that. Good practice for my KJ's sills in the summer.
