Your Off-Road Lighting Setup

I've gone over a lot of searches and seen a lot of info but not many pictures.

I'm wanting to see how you have auxiliary lights mounted on your rig.

Pods on the mirrors?
Rooftop lightbars?
Lightbars on roof baskets?
32" in the front bumper?
Halogen Spotlights?

If you've installed any type of light on your Jeep I want to see it! I'm trying to get some ideas for what to do next! [emoji16]

Thanks for the link! I've looked over google images quite a bit in regards to those. I've just heard of a couple members that have had a 32" bar in the front bumper pocket and another member that somehow mounted the pods to the mirrors. I was hoping someone with those setups would chime in with more pics then I have been able to dig up

Drilled a large enough hole through the bottom of the hinge to fit a socket, ran light with bolt through the top hole and nut up through the bottom
May have filled the hole with some sealant (hopefully) and ran the wire through the cowl to the battery, then of course through the firewall to a switch
I feel like taking the mirror apart wouldn't even be worth the hassle as it's just cheap plastic
This is all a guess as I haven't done it, but it makes the most sense to me without knowing the construction of the mirror assembly itself

Oh and pertaining to the lights I have, as you can tell from my profile pic, 2 lightbars- one mounted on a bull bar and the other to the roof
They offer great light output and for the entire setup I paid less than what a set of KC LED pods would be (just an example, as some of their products run over $1k)

i rarely ever use my roof lights unless its during a recovery or repair, in the bumper have pencil beam driving lights, but the ones that get used the most are amber 65w KC floods panned slightly out to cover both ditches. I had them on a foot switch but stole the switch back out for use on somethin else and put them back on the stalk foglight switch relay

That's what I was assuming was done but wasn't sure if the mirror was hollow in the middle or rotated on a hidden bolt.

I have seen your roof top bar thread and it makes me want to do one as well!

Love the bumper on your Jeep, makes it look very beefy! That's a clever idea to put it on a foot switch. I've been also poking around for possible areas to mount the switches that would be easily accessible

Well now lets see what I've had over the years on the girls.
As far as the mirrors go, not a good place to mount really IMO, wouldn't be able to fold the mirrors back when back in the woods or parking along the street Ok a few sort of different setups, tried the new tread but I like a long beam not just a bunch of light right in front of me .

I really like the roof mounted ones you have probably will go with a similar set up to that. What bumper is that by the way? That thing is awesome looking!!!! I love when you can see the full tire from the front

Oh and if I remember right in that pic above he was showing what a 32" looks like on MOABs with 4"+ of lift vs 2.5", correct me if I'm wrong

This picture I was seeing how much room 265-75-16s had, but went with 265-70-16s in the end. Works better with 4.10 gears

Yep, from what I've seen/read I was the first one to mount it in the location I did and the way I did
42" curved 5D lightbar (only size that will look appropriate above our windshield) from Auxbeam mounted on some GMC mounts inside the door trim
23" 5D lightbar up front on my bullbar from Auxbeam, all totaling to a little over $300.. pretty cheap setup for the light output and ease of installation if you ask me

I was in Home Depot the other day and walked past the shower grab handle/bars. It made me think. Would a 30" stainless bar look good holding up some auxiliary lighting on the front bumper? Of course I would probably coat it black to mask that it is in fact a shower grab bar lol
