Whatever you do or use, make sure you post up here with where you found it. Sometimes the older links don't work anymore, so new ones are always good to have.

Transfer Case for manual the same as automatic?

yes, no, and it's complicated. yes... NP231, NP241, and NP242 can be bolted up. HOWEVER... 2WD manuals have a different tail snout than the 4WD equipped manuals. so you'll need that very specific part. there's also the fact the NP241 is a more stout transfer case than the other two, to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

*sigh* "new" left rear caliper is bad. sticks when applied. can get it to retract by compressing the piston. lines are clear (replaced in 2021) and flushed with all new fluid, so it's not any of that. damnit!

What did you do to your jeep today?

I don't know if anyone else will ever need this, but I was this days old when I discovered something really important and useful for doing the parking brake shoes on this jeep. I've always put painters tape on the friction surface, just to protect it from getting contaminated during...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Well that was amazing. Going out there this morning and just one more time decided to try to get that nut off. Apparently sitting overnight with PB blaster on it got it just loose enough that I was able to remove it.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Well I just got done wrestling with it for the day. I actually managed to get seven of the eight nuts off. Both backing plates are removed. Both replacement backing plates are modified and their cuts are painted so they hopefully don't rush quite so fast. If it weren't for the 8th nut deciding...

What did you do to your jeep today?

New master cylinder installed. Fyi, centric doesn't know how to drill a ******* hole apparently and thread it correctly. I wasted over 2 hours getting the rear brake line fitting installed. All shiny new front brakes installed. Rotors, calipers, brackets, pads. Yes I know, they're different...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Mean okay I guess the 06 was the first year that the Jeeps got four channel abs. Did the 07 Dakota's and Rams not have four channel? Seems a little bizarre that the bolts would have to be changed, but what the hell do I know.

What did you do to your jeep today?

so apparently 6036595AA is the correct part number for the stud, but it's discontinued. it's also only for the 06-07 model years. 6036556AA is the part number for 02-05 for some reason? also it's fitment is for Dakota and RAM for 02-07. which would make sense since it's the same axle IIRC...

What did you do to your jeep today?

finally getting around to the great brake job of 2024. found my first show stopper. the 4 bolts that hold the flange/seal(?) to the axle housing, they're not bolts any more. they're just rusted fused globs of mettal. so, they gotta be cut off and replaced. anyone know what that part is called...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Well I never would have guessed this one. Started smelling gas every single time I drive the jeep. Thought maybe something had happened at the fuel tank and the filler neck since it started right after I got a full tank put in. Nope. It's apparently the jumper line from the fuel hard line to the...
