I did this exact setup and developed bad surging (aka, some people say warped). I hope your experience is better. I replaced them with powerstop and for me, I haven't had any surging with them (on my second set).
I just did the crk2162 and it seems good so far. They seem to be higher quality than any other midrange rotors and pads I’ve dealt with in the past.
Did the e brakes too, probably drive around the past 4 years without any.
First, been a while and I am about to redo the front basically and hand the KJ off to my daughter. 175k and I know the front lower bushings need done. What is everyone’s thought on replacing them. Do shops generally have any issues doing them? Thinking of taking them to a shop to get them done...
The bushing retains it. On the outer side of the bushing, the hole is small and sorta snaps on. Heck, the cable sat there without a bushing, mine for about 4 years without the bushing and I never had an issue except for it being sloppy. The bushing is a bit difficult to get in the end of the...
Yeah that’s totally different. So there’s two kinds of shifter cables. I guess either would work but you have to know which one you have to get the correct bushing.

awesome! good job and way to be persistent! Just know that it will never idle smooth, these never did. I'm not saying it is supposed to buck back and forth or anything but getting each and every little twitch out of it won't happen. I get a smooth idle sometimes when I change the plugs randomly...
That's why I would just like to see your assembly. That doesn't fit mine and seems to have an entirely different cable end and bushing. Just trying to determine a let people know there is a difference in some of these.
My bushing is this one...
Can anyone that has done this recommend what tools you need to pull this bearing and replace it?
might be easy enough to just have a shop do it too I guess. I'm getting less and less eager to work on it.

Good write up. I used to have one on here but it probably got deleted since my pictures disappeared. anyway, its not that hard if you have the socket to get it out.
If you’re talking about the clip that snaps in on each side of the cable when it slides up into the bracket, all you need to do is get something to grab each side and pull down. I used a cotter pin removal tool which is basically like a screwdriver hooked on the end and pointed.

This. Been running this setup for 10 years, on second replacements. Spoils me. I can’t imagine having a better setup.

Worked pretty good. Now it is all back to nice n snugg.
Just one ?. I see there’s a white retainer maybe that’s used on wranglers and other kJ years. Is...
Ok, so that was not the actual switch. Sorry, after getting familiar with it again I realize I can change out the switch. looks like this will work and I may try it after the weather get a bit warmer. till then, I'll have to charge my battery if I don't drive for a few days...
Well, maybe I will I guess. I posted in my ordeal years ago when I replaced it then.

Probably should get an OEM this time and do it. I hate to just through parts at it too.
Been off here a while, but may be back more and more as my lift has about had it with 110 K on it. Anyway, I have a battery drain issue that I can't pinpoint. I've hooked up a multimeter with a nifty gadget I got online to test the amperage going out of the battery...
