Made some L-pads a week ago and finally installed them. Regular component tweeters are not good for the ears installed in the dash. I hoped to pull them down about 2 db.
let us know if you follow ridenby's advice. I would love to put a real bearing in there and see if it takes care of the annoying vibes everyone complains about.
Still have my RSX shocks. Getting a little soft, but I've really enjoyed them the last 40K miles. I'm sure I'd think anything was too soft now that I've gotten used to these. I bet they couldn't produce a shock that good and be profitable. That's my only guess. Seems everyone wants to work less...
No one has mentioned that all this won't change the noises he's talking about?
Use some silicon spray on your front swaybar bushings. Hopefully that's all the noises are coming from. Anything making noises in the rear, same thing; nothing in any of the suspension parts you'll be replacing with...
The only time I've ever broke out into a cold sweet in slippery conditions was when I had ABS in my F150. That thing scared the crap out of me. ABS removes all braking control from the driver when it comes time for the wheels to skid.
new plugs, clean air filter. keep oil changed regularly. Use injector cleaner every once in a while. That's about it unless you want to unload your wallet for very minimal gains.
Why does everyone think they cost so much?

For that price it should be a no brainer. the silent armor's are always more expensive.
I guess it would be a grand for 5 though. But do you really need E rated tires?
Its on the back of the driver side valve cover. Sort of difficult to get to and you need a huge Socket that I can't remember what size. The old PVC valves are about 5 bucks and the new ones are $25 or so IIRC.
The staff? Where? they probably tighten it too much like every other mechanic that does oil changes.
I hand tighten mine, never a leak and never a wrench needed to get the oil filter on or off.
so if it never overheated the head(s) should be fine right? Just would need new springs and retainers then? What actually broke? I either missed that part or wasn't mentioned. If you dropped a valve seat then yes you would need the machine shop, but what actually happened?
Yeah, X a gazilion. Seems like no matter if you take care of these or not they are failing. Is there anything we can do? Maybe it would be easy just to replace valve retainers and springs before they break?
Every time a hear a new tick I get sick to my stomach. So is there anything to do...
