I dont remember things like I use to, but Ive never seen someone snap a lower control arm on a KJ.
Its amazing you made it home and it didnt completely break. Thats cast iron I do believe, which makes it even more surprising.
Ive never needed to put my KJ in recirculate to help with interior heat. My KJ actually has the best heat and A/C of any vehicle Ive ever driven.
If both heater hoses are hot, then you either have a plugged heater core or the blend door isnt moving as it should be. Make sure you check the temp...
Its a vacuum actuator and it will be closed when you have the position knob on recirculate and will be open (pulling air from outside) on all other positions.
Assuming they are both v6's, they should both have 3.73 gears.
Some will say you need to change the proportioning valve since youre going from drum to disc brakes...
You can but the Curt ball mount like I have on ebay. It helps having it extended out a bit more but it will make the rear end squat a bit more. I have air bags, so its not an issue. I also pulled the Jeep with the camper on the Cat scales, Im right at the rear axle max weight...
It has the Mopar recall hitch and a 4" drop Curt ball mount. It is a bit longer at 10.25" center hole to center hole.
Im not interested in cutting a hole in the cargo area. Some Libertys had an access panel from the factory, but they removed it on the 2004 Libertys.
I've always thought the Liberty got more hate than it should, and its certainly more of a Jeep than anything they make now days (besides the wrangler). This Jeep was bought new and has been in my family since. Only I have serviced the Jeep right down to the first engine oil change. No one else...
Someone must have replaced it just before they quit driving it.
I had to replace mine early on and never could get the stock CV off. Hated to replace it, but the Napa CV has been doing fine for 18 years. I greased the new shaft when I installed it and there was still grease in there when I...
What Hitch Class do I have?
Class 3 if its factory.
What is the size (in inches) of the receiver tube?
If its factory, its 2"
What is the size (in inches) of the tow ball?
Whatever the trailer requires.
What kind of wiring adaptor do I have?
No way to know if we cant see it. If its factory...
Dang, thats a bad day.
Everyone talks about how horrible removing the dash is but honestly, its just time consuming, its not hard. Ive replaced the evap in three Jeeps, no biggie.
I'm not aware of any XJ's that have a 5x5 lug spacing.
If you decide to buy new gears, I went with Nitro gears and I dont believe I would recommend them. I made 100% sure that my pattern was spot on and I still get gear noise around 70mph. Ive always read Yukon is a crap shoot since they just...
Take that cover off the rocker, I'd say they have holes in them.
I washed my KJ OFTEN and never let salt sit on it, my rockers still have rust. If I had known it was an issue, I would have coated the inside of the rockers the day it rolled off the lot. The WJ's of that era suffer the same...
It came on KJ's if it had the towing package or offroad package. Whether or not it was a limited or not didnt matter.
The cooler is on the return line, so no need to have anything fabricated. You can use any rubber hose that will resist power steering fluid.
I believe Moly is just part of the oils additive package, I wouldn't worry about it. Not sure about the magnesium.
On the silicon, that can be a crappy air filter or an air filter thats not sealed well. I had a very high silicon content on one of my ZJ's and they said to check the filter. While...
Without properly diagnosing it, were just taking guesses. You need to have a set of gauges to properly check the pressures and even then, its best to evac the system to see if it has/had the correct amount of refrigerant in it.
With that, mine was doing something similar and it was a bad low...
