The 2002 and early 2003 libertys had the transmission cooler inside of the radiator. If you had the towing package or offroad package, you got another AUX transmission cooler. This is a much better setup. There are endless opinions on this...
All libertys after that got just the AUX cooler...
It will be fine until you can put in the new thermostat. It may use more fuel than normal and wont have very good heat. And yes, the check engine light will most likely come on since it isnt reaching normal temps.
You'll either need to remove the tone ring from the original carrier and install it on the TT, or buy a new one and install it on the TT.
I used the ring gear to press it on, no idea if thats a good or bad idea... I tried putting the TT in the freezer and heating up the tone ring but that didnt...
Ive almost got all of the mopar HOAT out of my system and have filled it with the Zerex G05. Hoping the dye doesnt stain the new overflow tank like the mopar stuff did.
Getting warm only when putting the engine under load sounds like a cooling capacity issue to me... This is backed up by the fact that it doesnt overheat when you have the interior heat on.
Either you have some sort of blockage, which would be odd at this point, or that tstat isnt fully...
Im a little confused. You say its running 194F, then say youre at a loss. What am I missing? 194F is completely normal. Even if the tstat says 205F on it, the temps will vary depending on where the tstat is located (top of the engine on a hemi) and where the temp sensor is. Also, not everything...
One complaint Ive always had is how much the trans tunnel protrudes into the foot area... Never had an issue hitting the gas and brake though, and my brake pedal doesnt go to the floor.
My LCA's were also rusted out... But Ky isnt in the rust belt so they were not covered.. Even though it snows here and they use tons of salt.... Suppose thats their way of saving a few bucks.
I found the recall LCA's for $40 shipped and ended up getting two sets thanks to Rona causing...
I taped a temp probe from my multi-meter to the end of the dip stick and stuck it down in there. Measured both the temp and the level.
IR temp gun probably also works. I should try both and see what each say.
Dont completely give up on Ebay. Ive bought many good parts on ebay and they have a very good return policy.... Which is the main reason Im worried about selling anything on ebay.
Pretty sure you have come to the wrong conclusion on the meaning of my post. There is a difference in saying someone is spreading BS and simply saying that Ive never seen a Mopar rad for $1,000....
Ive heard of fan clutches failing and locking up, Ive always had them fail loose though... Would much rather they fail in the locked position...
Im currently running the stock hayden replacement and its working great.
