It was a lot of fun! I just wish we spent more time in Nicolet. We cut our time short after I slipped in some mud and banged up my knee really well. :( Ah well, there's always next year!

If you do a web search on the new company name, it seems that there are still issues (according to some other 4x4 forums) with the customer service side of the business.
If you do ever decide to hit up any of the forest service roads up in Chippewa, I highly recommend picking up a motor vehicle use map from the local ranger station. They are updated regularly (at least once a year) and highly detailed as far as location and length of trails.
We were up in Northern MN a few weeks ago. There are some really nice two-tracks up in the Chippewa National Forest. Even found a couple of trails that ran along the Mississippi River.
It would make for a nice weekend trip for you folks in MN. I've got some pics posted here...
This is one of the nice things about the way Great Lakes Jeep Thing organizes the Toys 4 Tots parade. They invite (or at least try to) ALL the 4x4 clubs in and around the Chicago area. There's a group that comes down from Milwaukee, WI every year for the event. It's great to see so many...
Thanks! :) He swooped across the trail about 30 yards in front of us. I told Jan to look up in the trees to spot it. Took a bunch of shots as we approached really slowly so as not to spook him.
