New Jeep looks great. I still miss my KJ, especially on the trails, but 5 months after selling it and buying a Grand Cherokee and I don't miss the Liberty's highway manners. I miss the zero monthly car payment a lot!
That was my original plan but didn't work out and I'll definitely miss the KJ for sure. It was getting to the point where it would sit for 3-4 weeks at a time and I was keeping it alive just to drive to hunting camp 4 hours away for a few trips a year, and a few trips to the off road park. The...
Took me a few months but I'll be taking delivery of my new GC Trailhawk Monday. With all the electronic 4x4 buttons and gizmos I'll have to study up on them before going off road. I'm excited but still sad to see my first Jeep go on to another life (hopefully not the scrapyard!) My wife joking...
I'm looking for one now :icon_razz:
I was going to go with the CV rebuild kits but I'm on my second OEM shaft now (original replaced at 110K - 10K after lift) and was thinking this bad boy might last longer
2002-2007 JEEP LIBERTY FRONT DRIVE SHAFT - DIRECT BOLT IN - NEW BALANCED - 1310 -...
I decided to keep my 05 for the same reason. Jeep dealer was willing to give me the best offer (still way below what I wanted) IF I bought a brand new Grand Cherokee from them. I definitely learned the expensive mods don't equal more resale value.
Same issue with me, been dealing with it for many years. My fix was to install a battery disconnect knob on the negative terminal. Of course if i forget to use it my Odyssey battery goes in 3-5 days. My ignition switch is original so maybe a replacement is in order.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience over the years. It was not an easy decision to sell but it was easy deciding to buy another Jeep. The KJ was my first Jeep and best vehicle I've ever owned - despite some of my rants when things broke now and then.
After 12 and a half years of being the original owner of my KJ I'm ready to pass it on to the next owner. I'll be posting to the for sale section of this forum once I get it washed and pretty for pictures. I definitely want to give this community first shot at it before I try to sell it locally...
I rotate all 5 (full size spare) religiously every 3000miles. Last alignment was a few months ago after axles installed but before that maybe a year ago. I couldn't notice anything myself by looking so I'll bring to tire shop right around the corner and ask. Thanks!
I bought a u-haul hitch 9 years ago for the KJ and got the $5 lifetime warranty. Confirmed today after an inspection that they will replace the rusted out hitch with a new one (free!)once the part comes in next week. :pepper:
I had both CV axles and Intermediate replaced a few months ago and I still get a vibration noticeable after 55MPH. Its a rhythmic whoop-whoop or like a thuuuump thuuuump sound. Had tires balanced and rotated to rule that out. Rear u-joint and front driveshaft both replaced 26K miles ago, new...
Returned last night from my hunting trip. Total of 680 miles on the KJ with zero issues other than needing a jump start after sitting for a week (forgot to use my new battery disconnect), and the dreaded fuel burp when I miscounted how many gallons I needed for a fill-up. Its definitely not set...
OK I found the tow hooks. (Was on vacation so that was the delay in responding to you) They are connected to the mounting brackets but I don't have the original hardware for the three mounting holes on each bracket. If you still want them and will cover shipping and throw in an extra $20 for me...
