Transfer Case will be ATF+4 i belive. They are all the same they have to meet the same standards. Some fluids are better than others becasue they put this or that in them. That is what makes them more or less expensive. You can look at this on the back of oil bottle. They will all meet the...
Yea TBJ would be correct. It's the hydraulic pump turning on supplying fluid pressure to the break lines. You would also notice this when the ABS system kicks on during a skid.
Change the brake fluid. In my eye's it’s the most neglected fluid everyone over looks. They don't print it in the owner’s manual, but they should start. We change the fluid that makes us go but never the fluids that make us stop.
Oil starts turning brown/black and breaking down when you start the engine after the oil change. I'll just stick with the UOA. We do it at work for our small fleet of trucks. It will tell you anything you really want to know about whats going on inside your engine with out tearing it apart.
There are lots of variables in this. I like the theory of the mechanical fan but one would think that there would be no condensation once the engine warms up. Then liquid is able to evaporate again and be sucked into the engine. Maybe the condensation forms on the tube and then limits the...
Well there are a few reasons why I use 10W-30 instead of 5w-30. The engine has 110k miles on it so the clearances have opened up so it can have heavier weight oil can work when she starts up. When it warms up the oil becomes 30 weight anyways. Plus the owner’s manual states I can use 10w-30...
When I saw it I cleaned it all out the best I could and see if it comes back again as bad. I checked the PCV valve and all the vacuum lines and everything is clean and working. So I will just keep an eye on it next time I pop under the hood. If so time to change oil brand.
That’s odd because I don’t have a short trip to work every day, hell I wish I did. It's a half an hour drive one way and it’s all 55 MPH for the most part. So I would figure that would be long enough to burn off the excess water. I would agree its condensation of some kind.
While adding oil to the old jeep today I noticed this yellow milky fluid on the cap and down the filler tube. I have seen it before but never really wondered what it was. I took the baffle out and cleaned it all out. Also I checked the PCV valve and hoses and everything is working the way it...
Well I'm sure there will be people that will disagree with me, but its truly the only way i can think of other then lifting the car up to see if both the axles turn. I do this on a hard packed surface, so the tires will not lose traction. I turn the wheel all the way to one end and put it in D...
