Buy thisMy Liberty's transmission pan leaks. I'm planning to replace the filter and the gasket. Does anyone have an idea how to measure the fluid before I drain. Is there a dipstick from some other vehicle that would work?
Thanks
This works well. I used on my dodge caravan.Your engine oil dipstick and a mm ruler can also do the trick in a pinch. Be sure to measure at a known temperature because the level changes when the fluid is hot (it expands). Warmed up, engine running, in park works well.
Here is a good thread on how to do it:

After buying the Dorman 917327 dipstick and a WIX 58013 filter/gasket kit from Rockauto; I drained transmission pan and followed the instructions and info chart to fill the transmission. That's a good idea to measure the transmission temp.
Original install was rtv silicone as a gasket. That is pretty typical. I can’t recall if mine had a mopar or non-mopar filter. After buying the Dorman 917327 dipstick and a WIX 58013 filter/gasket kit from Rockauto; I drained transmission pan and followed the instructions and info chart to fill the transmission.
The Liberty had only 14,000 miles when we bought it in spring of 2014. When I removed the pan, there was no gasket, only silicone. The previous owner towed the Liberty behind a motorhome, and for some reason the transmission was serviced (non Mopar Service?).
